the disc eject thing always pissed me off i never knew why you couldn't do that, i mean you could do it on th trey why not on the 360.
but you could do it if the tray was open right?

In my opinion the three best new features of the update are the speed increases, the smaller game installs, and the ability to rate content in the marketplace.

All in all I am really impressed with this update. I don't know why some journalists are acting like it is disappointing that we aren't getting the Facebook, twitter and Last.fm features with this update. I was under the impression that we would see an update in the Fall with those features and I didn't even know that we would be getting an update before that, so to get this update so soon is awesome. Then, in a couple of months, it will be even better

Have you ever sent a voice msg, only for your friend to tell you to resend it cause there was no voice?

Well, it will now detect whether your mic is connected or muted - as your making the msg.

"Smaller Game Install Sizes:
You may now install games that are smaller than the previous 3 gigabyte limit. This allows some bonus disks and smaller games to be installed onto your hard drive."

Any examples? I can't think of any at the top of my head. At first I confused this feature with smaller game install sizes. I haven't tried to reinstall any games yet.

The Smaller Game Install Sizes is a great new feature. I wish they'd give some minor detail, just to satisfy curiosity.

Agreed, I hadnt caught a few of these until this article. The Faster Gamertag Recovery is appreciated, generally people get a little ansy when you've got a room-full waiting to play.

Ooh, i didn't know the primetime channel was tidied up - will need to take a gander later.

Just wish they had a 1vs100 at a time that's suitable for parents who can't just drop things* around bath/bedtime and run off to the console

*disclaimer - i do not mean dropping my children [into a bath]...
I still would like two more things (at least):
1- MSP gifting.
2- optical audio delay. I can do it on my sky box to get the desired latency result, why not this?

I have only one complaint about the improved netflix. It doesnt show me everything there is to be viewed by the 360. Meaning that it will randomly display different categories from time to time. I turned it on one night and browsed through the horror selection and watched the movie flatliners. Then I turned it on the next day and the whole horror category was not showing. I was getting Independent instead.

There are other categories that seem to be pretty standard such as comedy and romance and children/family. I guess there isnt enough room on the screen to list all categories like you would see on a pc. It is as if it picks categories to list based off the previous viewing habbits. Not that it is a bad thing but I would like to be able to browse categories I had not watched anything in yet.

I am really curious when the 360 will be able to play all Instant Viewing content on netflix like a PC can. I think I recall there being license issue with some content which is why you cant see it on the 360 browser but it is on the PC.

I want to be able to change the dashboard to the old one, that should be added, I mean is it that hard to make it as something you can choose from? Plus I like the old dashboard more then this one now (Even if I haven't got my 5th 360 yet)

I was wondering? did they ever make it so you can use your flash drive to install movies and music to the 360's HD? So far all my 360's only let me list to what was on them and my PS3 reads all my flash drives an all files can be install (Well music,video and pics lol) Just was wondering if they fix that.

I got almost 1TB of music an only half I would want on a 360 and almost all are on my PS3 (Mostly because I added a new hard drive)

about changing the dashboard to the old 1, I wouldn't mind that either but would also still like to see a dashboard-hiding feature so I can freely view the artwork I payed for!

does the music player have fast-forward/reverse yet?

I preferred things before as well and post NXE custom themes just aren't worth having so I'd love the chance to have it the old way too.

Failing that why not the choice to not have an avatar? Not everyone likes them or wants to dress 'em up in the latest ms approved digital duds. Surely allowing me to avoid the avatar I never wanted to make in the first place should be an option. It might just be me but I detest the things(and Mii's as well!)so should I be forced into having one esp when we pay for Live? I can't think of many things I wouldn't choose to be represented by rather than an avatar!

not if you do a strategic eject right when someone else is near the TV. or even call them in to ask them something and drop the 'while you're here can you...' line on them.

Sounds to me like Danielle007 needs to refine their skills in the science/art of getting things done via the laziest way possible. You'd be surprised how much energy you don't have to spend if you work at it.

I don't think that is the correct term. I would rather click a button on a gamepad then click the DVD Eject button. saves wear and tear.

Because of the great X360 dashboard interface. All the games are linked to your gamer tag along with gamer scores and achievements. It is also very well organized and clean looking and of course full of features.

Also, these yearly or bi-yearly update are fast and seamless.
