What Will the ModernWarfare Controller Be?

That Aussie Game Site:"Just as you thought that Modern Warfare 2 was only going to cost you 199 with a flash new set of night vision goggles Robert Bowling, of Four Zero Two fame on Twitter, has tweeted he is in a design meeting for a Modern Warfare 2 Controller. Hmmm"

sunil5395d ago

you took the words right out of my mouth :)

FamilyGuy5395d ago

It'll probably look something like this.

villevalorox5395d ago

Im going to say it is a cheep ripoff of the actual controllers itself. Just with some cod prints and stuff. other than that. haha. From what I think.. if so would just be better to buy a new controller form sony or microsoft and take a sharpie and write CoD MWF2 on it or something..

But we will find out. I mean look at what they are trying to gt out of you for some cheep ass ""night vision"" goggles... lol.

hehehehehe lol i wonder how much that costs :)

Elimin85395d ago (Edited 5395d ago )

@ PirateThom....Good laugh

@ interrergator. $150.00 or $149.99 might come with a stand that also acts like a charger..

There are a lot of good projectors out there. The Panasonic PT-AE300 is the one I'm currently eyeing. It comes with this feature called Pro Frame creation technology, you can read about it here; http://www.letsgodigital.or...

But to summarise, it takes a normal 50hz signal(PAL) and increases it 100hz, making it great for Sports and gaming. It's pretty awesome :D

Edit:Gah, WTF?! Meant to reply to someone else. Stupid reply system.

Solans Scott5395d ago (Edited 5395d ago )

I sincerely hope that is not "gimped" in any way. I intend to get the PS3 version of the game and if I am to be tempted to invest in this control it should meet the following requirements.

1. It should be wireless bluetooth.
2. Support rumble and sixaxis
3. Have a button which lets me access the in game XMB.
4. Be of good quality, comparable to Sony's own controller.

For all the people getting the Xbox version the controller should function the same as that of Microsoft's own control. In short it should not lack any of the features we as gamers have grown accustomed to when using our first party controllers.

Max Power5395d ago

wouldn't it have any of the functions the original controllers have?

goflyakite5395d ago

The only way I'd buy it if was Sony actually making it, so it'd be the exact same as the DS3 just with a camo. (like in the article picture)

CrayzeeCarl5394d ago

Because a lot of third-party controllers are gimped in some of those ways. Most of them don't have a working PS button and use a USB dongle instead of bluetooth.

omegaortega5395d ago

I know what the controller will look like.....

A MOUSE AND KEYBOARD!!!

Just kidding. But a mouse+kb will certainly be my preference for a fps.

sGIBMBR5395d ago

I'd say that used to be the case, now i just love the feeling of holding my controller while relaxing in my nice leather chair :)

sak5005395d ago

@^^^^

Word.. Used to be pc gamer till 2005. After getting used to 50" screen and 360's controller can't bring myself to play pc games on my puny 19"Widescreen monitor. I even picked up a 4870x2 2GB card 3 weeks ago but havn't put it in the pc.

omegaortega5395d ago

Look at the disagrees. Calm down fanboys! Not trying to attack the controllers that are so precious to you lol.

Anyways I agree with the huge HDTV and sitting back in a comfortable chair. Though a 24in monitor appears to be as big as a large HDTV when sitting at a desk. Also there are some extremely comfortable office chairs.

Honestly though I love both experiences and am a fan of PC and console gaming, I don't see the need for silly fanboy wars that divide the two.

DragonWarrior_45395d ago

I doubt playing on your 24 inch monitor will give me the same feeling I get when I play on my 120 inch screen.

snaz275395d ago

ive considerd getting a projector but ive kinda been put off a little because the the lamp life, as i use my tv quite alot, plus also you pretty much can only use them in the dark which kinda sucks also...hmmm but it does look pretty sweet, im tempted... i suppose i could use both the projector and the tv, its given me some food for thought anyway.

omegaortega5395d ago (Edited 5395d ago )

Congrads to you :)

I prefer monitors/tv's over projection, so keep that feeling to yourself :D

But for gaming... I will take a speedy 2ms (response time) screen.

Oh and btw... games in 720p like Killzone 2(yes you can use 1080p but the framerate drops dramatically since it's real and not upscaled 1080p). I can't stand the image being stretched out over very large screens. It's like taking a photo meant for a wallet and blowing it up as a wall photo instead of taking a wall size photo in the first place.

To each his/her own.

Love the icon btw DragonWarrior.

snaz275395d ago (Edited 5395d ago )

so whats the responce time of a projector? and i gotta say im one of them that prefer using a controller for gaming also, i just couldnt sit there at a desk looking at a little screen... i like lazing on my sofa while i game lol.

edit.. yeah well i did some reading up on them, and it seems they have got alot better these days, tho i didnt really notice what the reponce times were, ill have a quick look now tho and get back to ya lol

omegaortega5395d ago

It varies.

The ones I've used have had a slight delay while gaming. But I've yet to try any of the recent projectors.

If there is a 2ms projector lol, I'd love to see it!

snaz275395d ago

and ive read that really projector dont list the responce time, however i read a review from 2007, and it said this perticular projector had a game mode which reduced the responce time from 15ms-5ms which aint bad right? i think it would be neat to have a projector but its the lamp life that bothers me! a new lamp costs like 200! and they dont last that long, they say they start to dim after a few hundred hours too.

Boody-Bandit5395d ago (Edited 5395d ago )

Don't get too caught up in ms response when picking out a display for gaming. Be more concerned with input lag. There are a few flat panels out there today that have a 4ms but have zero input lag vs displays that have 2ms response and considerable input lag.

What display are you using that gives you a 2ms?
Personally I would game on a plasma but I prefer the illumination and monitor type razor sharpness an LCD provide me. I will deal with a slower ms and even a little input lag to get the visuals I seek.

@dragonwarrior
Nice setup. I have a 1080p projector on a 120" display as well. Actually I have a dedicated theater in my basement where it is used. I use to game on a projector but I prefer the illumination that a back lighted flat panel provide.

Still nothing blows people away more than seeing their favorite game displayed on a screen that big when they see it for the first time. When some of my friends are going to visit to do some gaming they ask me to set up my consoles in my theater vs playing in my gaming room.

BTW DW if you are handy build your own ceiling mount. Just use google and do a search for a suitable mount for your projector. I made one for my sons room for $20 dollars from parts I purchase at Home Depot.

@snaz27
Don't let lamp light put you off from purchasing a projector. You will be surprised just how long that lamp will last and most are a piece of cake to install yourself. I replaced a lamp recently in one of my older projectors (4 years old which my son uses in his room) and it cost $65 dollars and took me 3 minutes to install.

omegaortega5395d ago

http://www.newegg.com/Produ...

Thats a lot of useful information. Though I haven't ran into any issues with input lag with HD monitors, but I have with my friends HDTV.

Boody-Bandit5394d ago (Edited 5394d ago )

That's a sweet monitor. I never used a computer monitor for a gaming console before so I cant comment on it's performance but thanks for the link. I am in the process of putting together a racing c0ckpit (lol it wouldn't accept my message until I removed the o from c-ockpit) and I was thinking about going with a 3 panel 24" display. I am going to add that Asus to my short list of prospects.

As far as input lag (on a HDTV) it goes unseen until you have it side by side with another display sharing the same signal. I wont get into which models are notorious for this because I don't want to get into arguments or debates but a couple "top of the line" models have this problem.

My gaming display has it but I love the visuals it provides me so much that I turn a blind eye and simply put up with it. My display will have to do, which I just purchased a few months ago, until a time when LCD displays come out on the market that don't have any of these issues.

BioGun Review | ZeePond

"The artwork is stunning, the soundtrack is fun and suits the game perfectly, and the game runs really well for early access. You can play BioGun with your mouse and keyboard, but I strongly recommend using a gamepad. The controls are super tight, and playing this game is a pleasure." - ZeePond
