Actually this "only on" bull, when it's related to a 3rd party game is usually a ruse. How many times will people keep falling for the same lie.First, if a game is on the PC it isn't only on said platform. Then there are the denied timed exclusives many feel will show up on other platforms sooner or later. This is the reason relying on 3rd party games (360) really is not the way to go. Gears 2 and Fable 2 look like good games but the likelihood of those games coming out on the PC is pretty good. Sure it may be a year or so later but for those that can wait it's no biggie.
As for the lack of blood in sigma, if blood was the best part of the game for you then the game must not have been much. I Remember street fighter 2 on the SNES and Genesis blood debate. Snes had slightly better visuals and the Genesis had blood which didn't affect the enjoyment either way due to it being a solid game. Besides to use of blood in the game was overdone and at least to me was a turn off from what I've seen so less blood with better visuals is welcome.

I had NG 2 on 360. It was a great game with a few technical problems. Sounds like they are making good improvements. Except maybe the removal of the tons of blood. Either way this is a great game and youll see how bad azz it it once you get all the weapons and upgrade them.

In the game you can also bash off limbs and that wou send chunks oonto the wall. I hope they keep the chunks.

It sounds like they are trying to do more to justify this one. The fact that they are including a Co-op mode is pretty groundbreaking news for the NG series.

Not to mention, how is it that tecmo can do beautiful HD for the PS3, but all other MP games struggle at this? NG1Sigma was better looking than NG2 on 360, just sayin', it was pretty damn clean.

From what I saw, it was one of the best games I have played this generation thus far. In fact, I put more hours into this game than probably my entire 360 collection which amounts to about 30-40 games.

The staple of the game was superb action and a great challenge, especially on Master Ninja modes.

Mortal Kombat was about gore and little else, maybe some freaky/snazzy characters. In my opinion and probably quite a few others, I'd much rather have more characters than a bit of graphical blood.

NGS2 is without any doubt, the DEFINITE version.
Over 1/3 longer, more missions, more (giant) bosses, more weapons and combos, 3 added characters, added COOP mode, fixed the camera issues, better graphics and last but not least fixed all the bugs that plagued the 360 version.

And you stand here and try to claim (keyword here is "TRY" because not even 4 year olds believe you) that the 360 has the better version.

No kid, 360 version was a BETA compared to the definite version of the PS3.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 (Playable Ayane for the Crushing Victory), is the definitive version of all Ninja Gaiden(s) to date, not just Ninja Gaiden 2. It is the cumulation of Ninja Gaiden/Black, Ninja Gaiden 2, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, AND Ninja Gaiden:Dragon Sword. That is why it has elements from all of them. It will have characters and/or enemies that were only previously seen in each of them.

the PS3 Box is flawed, theres no "Playstation Network" Label for people to know it has an online functionality as well. Despite that, the PS3 Box looks slicker just like the original Sigma. Cant wait to get the game this fall.

Hopefully Sony/Tecmo fixes this. The Pope wants to see Sony do this so that people can take notice that Sony has a good/stable network as well.

Great game. Sucks that they took out the blood in the game and added that purple mist. From the recent screen shots the game looks pretty much the same. The coop is alright but it would make the game to easy. That would only work if they added a higher difficulty or more waves of enemies. Ninja Gaiden has always been a hard core game for the hard core player. Adding coop just doesn't work.

The Co-Op is different from the Campaign, its an added feature apart from the campaign. so the difficulty stays the same. and when I mean the same, I mean the same difficult game that you played on the 360, just remade for the PS3 with all the Fixes that the 360 version didnt get and the ability to play the other characters of the Franchise.

Other than that, its a good experiment to see if they can add such a feature in future Ninja Gaiden games in the actual Campaign mode. if the co-op Mode in Sigma 2 works and its hard as balls like its single player campaign counter-part, it would be win for everyone who begs for a NG3.

Im just hoping for Added Home Functionality since Team Ninja was interested in Home when it was unveiled. They stated this since the production of NGS1.

Tbh, the only change I was desperate for was the effin camera which was annoying in NG2 and as for the gore, or lack of it, I fail to see either way how it affects gameplay and if anything it was a little overdone first time round-not that it didn't look pretty spectalular at some points, but, really, the violence and challenge are intact, everyone gets some kind of NG2 so who's to moan? S'all good and the co-op could prove genius for the series(could be pants too but y'kno)and get more people into it and provide a good online future for the games.

Actually ToV IS getting a North American release, they already have ads for it at my local EB Games so... you fail.

In regards to the extra content warranting the exclusive logo, I think its kind of silly. I mean, although there are new gameplay elements present, I think the overall storyline is going to be the same. We'll see when it comes out anyways, maybe its nothing like NG2 at all lol but yeah, if it is significantly different, I suppose it will warrant the logo.

I have to agree with ExgamerLegends2 in post 4.1. Difference isn't minor, the difference is major. Online co-op fundamentally changes a game. On top of that there is a bunch of missions for said online co-op, and 3 extra characters for us to play those online co-op missions with. Characters that were not in Ninja Gaiden II. When you all of the other tweaks, fixes, extra enemies, weapons, new boss characters, enemies from other Ninja Gaiden releases, new phases in the campaign it qualifies as a new game.

Man, that is a lot of extra material. That blu-ray sure is a monster when the developer wants to add extras to an already existing game.

Errrr, Ninja Gaiden II was published by Microsoft Game Studios, they just don't own the IP.

In fact, I thought it was strange then. Tecmo normally publishes the Team Ninja games. But that time, out of the blue, Microsoft came in to publish Ninja Gaiden II seemingly for no good reason.

Microsoft published Ninja Gaiden II as part of the deal for exclusivity. Tecmo intended to make it multi-platform all along. However, Microsoft knew that Ninja Gaiden was one of the platform's high profile titles and wanted to keep it exclusive. In order to do that, Microsoft published it, and released it by a specified date. That explains why it was so buggy and the camera was so bad; the game wasn't finished.

Microsoft could have had Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 as well had they waited. It would not have been called "Sigma 2" but it would had all them important features. But it would have been multi-platform. Microsoft practically took the extra features away from its gamers in exchange for a one year exclusive deal.

Do you guys think this trade-off is worth it? Giving up extra features in exchange for a premature but exclusive game.

Sigma 2 has online co-op, 3 playable characters, new wepons, better camera, controls and graphics, 30% more gameplay and story content. new and more big bosses. sigma 2 crushes ninja gaiden 2 in everyway.

Sigma 2 also has old enemies from prior iterations of Ninja Gaiden that were not present in Ninja Gaiden II. It has enemies from NG:Dragon Sword on DS, that is where Momiji comes from by the way. It has enemies from Ninja Gaiden/Black that were not in Ninja Gaiden 2. It has a character from Sigma, Rachel, that was only playable in Sigma. Hayashi-san said that he wanted Sigma 2 to be the definitive summation of all Ninja Gaiden games, not just a re-make of Ninja Gaiden II.

You could say that Sigma 2 is also a continuation of Ninja Gaiden:Dragon Sword from the Nintendo DS, since it'll build upon that story as well.

All that together equals enough material to qualify it as a different game.

I predict that Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 is going to score a full point higher than Ninja Gaiden II on metacritic.

Where does 17 qualify as an adult? Remember, an adult can play/purchase any game from an E rating all the way up to AO. So I agree with Liquified, its target demographic is 'almost adults', the rating system being a sort of a lowest common denominator type thing.

As for NG2 on 360

I bought a 360 when i saw the news of this game coming exclusive to xbox. After the original NG, NG2 was dissapointing. Sold it when i saw the news of a PS3 NG Sigma 2 hoping it will be better. Lets wait and see

With respects to Ryu, and the whole Ninja Gaiden series.
I see that the PS3 version of Sigma2 is co-op play which helps alot because I wasn't eager to buy it.

Why you ask?

Because the first Ninja Gaiden was a real f*@king migraine to beat though I finished it. I vowed not to f*%k with Ryu again especially if it came from team Namco.

NGS2 should be good because NG2 is actually very good game. Sony fan are in for a treat since NGS2 is coming. Once you play that, other fighting games just doesn't feel right (too slow and easy). And yeah GoW may have better story, presentation etc....but down to the fighting mechanic and challenging aspect, nothing beat NG.

And people who are complaining about the camera, DON'T STAY IN ONE PLACE, u need to ran around constantly to survive. Get some practice before complaining.

I'm still playing NG2 and has been for a long time....and it is just getting better and better once you learn how to use all the weapons effectively.

NGS2 seems to be very good with all the new additions. Although I think they shouldn't fix the camera (it is fine the way it is and feel more personnel). You do have the button to change the camera so use it.

There are plenty of new things in "sigma" that justifies the label of "only on" PS3.

NGS2 isn't sounding good so far. Lots of people who were at E3 over at NeoGAF said that playing as Ayane wasn't as fun as Ryu, and there seems to be even more slowdown than NGII, possibly due to the added detail. The game couldn't handle 3 to 4 ninjas on screen without slowdown.

NG2 handled about 7 to 8 before the slowdown started.

It's still a work in progress, so there is hope.
