Digital Spy writes: "Although developers Square Enix and Mistwalker have been steadily supplying us with our stat-crunching, random battle fixes this generation, the global shift toward western development has take its toll on the time-sinking genre that once dominated our playtime. So far it's failed to significantly progress like other genres - with little more than high-definition visuals to call evolution - but while it is stagnant, it certainly isn't broke, and there is something for everyone in The Last Hope, even if it is stubborn to change."
