MS buying up Epic would be pretty freaking big, because the UE3 would force other publishers to adopt a new engine, its both a good and bad thing IMO. I dont think Xbox fans would get too excited, since all of Epic's content is on the 360 (and will be exclusive if what you say is true), but this will be huge blow to a lot of publishers, especially sony. MS would only license the engine for Xbox 360 games, so that means a lot of others will have to craft an engine specifically for PS3 if they want multiplatform games, and chances are that a lot of the publishers won't want to do that since it takes an incredible amount of time, hard work, and money, thereby leaving those games Xbox 360 exclusives. Taking risks with economy as it is just isnt worth it these days, still sony WILL do something to help Im sure. EA, Take-2, Activision and a lot more would have to compensate. Good thing Capcom, and Ubisoft are covered though, they're some of my favorites :)

Kojima is also making an announcment on Sony's behalf too, so don't go thinking this is a shallow victory or anything.

As for Epic games, we don't know what MS is going to do. We can't say here on our end. We do know they approached Sony with a project and Sony turned them down. That we do know and I have spoken about here on N4g, if you choose to believe me or not that's up to you all.

Insomniac is said to be showing off "Lock & Key" for the Ps3 aswell... A game some of you might remember me talking about once or twice. It's a survival horror game that Sony is really getting behind for a 2010 fall release. I know it's a ways away, but it's still something to look forward to.

I have no beef with xbox360, but you look at what's sony doing with the PS3 and you compare that to how microsoft is handling things in terms of exclusives, it just pales in comparison. It's ALL about exclusives now, otherwise we'd get one console over the other purely based on price point, if you disagree at least provide your reasons.

Well I own both machines and I don't agree that the PS3 is doing better on the exclusives front. Last holiday I actually bought more 360 exclusives. So far this year the PS3 has had like one more good game, but so what? It's still early in the year.

So far this year, I liked Halo Wars and Ninja Blade (not mind blowing, but pretty fun) on the 360 and Killzone 2 and Infamous on the PS3. So that is hardly a big difference. If the 360 has just one more must-have game by the end of the year they will be tied. And since we don't even know exactly what is going to be shown at E3 or how good those games will end up being, I think it is pointless to talk about who has the better lineup for the year. From my perspective it really isn't anything like what people pretend the situation to be.

They're both good consoles, but I don't like the way people trash the 360 on this site and the way they exaggerate the merits of the PS3. I am more of a fanboy of GAMES, not the consoles they are played on. Imagine people arguing about which DVD player was the best, as if it was the most important thing. That would be ridiculous, because the movies themselves are what really matter. In this case, it is about the games.

I take side on sony in any circumnstance but that does not mean i cannot come in here and read what microsoft has in store for us or what are the possibilities. shockingly I own both hardcore consoles and while rooting for sony this does not diminish my exictement to hear what microsoft will have for my 360. I for one will not lose sleep in worrying about what micro will take from sony or what they will announce. All I know is that sony has the best lineup and nothing microsoft brings can change mi mind (opinion)

I agree while sony has not gotten a break these last years microsoft has been strolling with games that are being overdone. Yes microsoft has brought new things to the picture like community play and has shown sony and nintendo on how to do it the right way. also achievements is a big thing since I love trophies. but they do tend to copy and paste on the game side. sony is about to have 4 consoles on the market ps2, ps3, psp, psp go, and yet some people want to see sony wither and die off as if sony didn't push the boundaries and made games to what they are today. Sony has stepped out of the box one to many times and you can see this with their ps3 at launch it was 800 to make and yet they were selling them at 600. sony provided one to many things in a system and they did this in thinking of the consumer. but in return the consumer knows this was too much for them and sony is trying to mend and reorganize themselves which can be seen now with all the great content they are bringing out.

Big announcement: Gears 2 is coming to pc! no i'm j/k - it is 'microsoft's conference' after all.

Epic has acquired Chair entertainment and People can fly in the last 2 years so it's very possible they could announce a 360 exclusive and a PS3 exclusive at the same conference. So i don't think this would completely rule out the PS3 exclusive rumor yet.

I hope they really do announce some amazing things that actually interest me. I know Sony are showing off a lot of stuff I already know about and want to see more of and anything on top of that will be a bonus.

MS however didn't knock my socks of last year and unlike last E3 I actually own a 360 now. I just hope it's not another Halo or Gears if War because Halo doesn't interest me and as mcuh as I have enjoyed Gears 2 I would really love a new exclusive IP along the same lines of quality that new exclusive IP's this gen have given with the likes f Uncharted and inFAMOUS. I realise those are sony games but I'd really love MS to give me some exclusives of that kind of genre/calibre to spend time with.
