My360 Writes:
Microsoft have been the timid performer at E3 over the past few years. They haven't exceeded expectations, nor have they disappointed. Last years expo had a few surprises - some good (like Final Fantasy XIII coming to 360) and some bad (like the You're In The Movies fiasco).
But as the current console "war" begins to heat up and hit boiling point, one can't help but have high expectations for this years expo. Everyone expects Nintendo to come out guns blazing after an embarrassing conference last year and Sony has teased and promised plenty of things. Then again, teasing and promising is just what Sony does.
Over the course of the week we'll be looking at what Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft have in store for us this year. What we expect to see, what has been teased, predicted and what we'd like to see surprise us this year.
This could be fun as they make great tables. Go big or go extinct. Prime your senses for a neural handshake and step into the cockpit of a Jaeger. It is on you to cancel the apocalypse when Pacific Rim Pinball comes to Pinball FX on May 16.
Huzaifa from eXputer: "2008 was home to the likes of Call of Duty: World at War, Dead Space, GTA 4, Far Cry 2, Left 4 Dead, and many other hits, which is outright remarkable."
Just about every year in the 7th generation was great and something we most likely won't experience again.
2009 for example had Assassin's Creed 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Dragon Age: Origins, Uncharted 2, Halo 3: ODST, Killzone 2, Borderlands, Bayonetta, and Demon's Souls to name a few.
While the mainstream media always sees things turning in favor of the hero, here are 6 games that own being a bad guy.
Pretty much all of these games listed are based around a morality system you don't have to be bad and you don't have to be good.
It seems to have left out some real amazing games like red dead redemption 1/2,ass effect and true crime la/ny
Armored Core VI?
Ok, I'm really missing something here. Just beat chapter 3 earlier this evening, unlocked A-rank Arena fights. I'm not seeing or sensing any branching paths or morality system and I've done every side mission and arena fight available to me up to that fight.
Is something big coming soon to branch the story?
No mention of Grand Theft Auto? Saints Row (original trilogy), Manhunt? Also The Suffering (depending on the ending you get).
Dark Sniper's predictions:
- Microsoft will throw in the towel and admit that their long term plans have been thwarted by the onslaught of Sony's PLAYSTATION®3 success
- Alan Wake will more than likely become announced as a multiplatform title, or if shown will be vastly inferior than the CGI trailer shown several years ago. Microsoft will be exposed as the liars that they are once again
- Microslaves will be drenched in tears as Kojima's next game WILL NOT appear on Microsoft's pitiful console. Bad architecture, limited space and shoddy online community being the main determining factors
- Nothing of any merit will be announced that favors Microsoft's Xbox 360. In fact, what you will see is multiplatform titles that will appear inferior to the PLAYSTATION®3 copy.
E3 is already in the bag for Sony. Dark Sniper will be patiently waiting as Microsoft will come out with bullets of sweat as their lack of preparation will result in the 1st round knockout that Jack Tretton will deliver this coming week.
Microslaves, your console has diminished into nothing. E3 is going to be nothing more than announcements of shovelware and downloadable content for titles that have no meaning or influence to the gaming industry, Halo being one of the primary examples.
$niper
with the ability to play with friends without a subscription, then Microsoft will come really close to beating Sony and Nintendo at E3. Anything else won't move me.
And i'm not really in the mood for a bunch of CGI trailers. I need Exclusives with In-game footage that showcases awesome Graphics and Gameplay. And I don't want anymore DLC. I need more full games. Give me this and Microsoft will have something there.
If not I will stick with my console of choice that does not and will never disappoint. Remember, it's all about the games to me and services come in second. Sony just seems to offer the best of all worlds. We'll see what Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo bring to E3 this year.
@ below: I'm not trolling. I just know what I expect from a console. And when I pay out of pocket for a console with internet connectivity, I expect to be able to play games with other people without a subscription. Is that wrong? So are you saying that recommending how to improve a console is a problem? I think you're trolling.
And I also think you're a stalker. Wow, somebody loves me. Glad I have made such an inspirational impact on your life. Now why don't we just talk about games, consoles and this E3? Let's stay relevant.
I could do the same thing and post how many times you've bashed other gamers but thats just childish. I love games and I love offering my opinion. Must be because of the 1st amendment. O well, I will not get in a debate with you over non-gaming related material.
Can't wait for E3!
What to expect?
FLOPS across the board. Microsoft is the cancer of gaming
This years E3 conference for Sony will be yet another disastrous example of why they are no longer worthy of being a competitor in the gaming industry.
The sad fact is though just like last year and the infamous E2 2006 the fandroids on this site will never admit that their conferences are inferior to the competitions while the Xbox 360 conference continually thrashes them every single time.
Sony for years now has been all talk no substance when it comes to gaming and the PlayStation brand. They have always talked up their products by lying and misleading their consumers, promising everything from CG quality graphics to 120fps on their consoles, but in reality they failed to provide even basic functionalities that the Xbox 360 had nearly 3 years ago.
While it took years for Sony to have even basic functionality in their console, the Xbox 360 has taken significant strides to further extend its lead over the PS3 in terms of power, performance, features and functionality. It wont be until 2011 at least when Sony will get to where the Xbox 360 is today
Too little too late Sony, people already realize your lies and have decided that the Xbox 360 is the ultimate home entertainment device this generation
