Ninja Blade Review - The Nightly Gamer

Andrew Weymes of The Nightly Gamer writes: "Ninja Blade was announced shortly after the release of Ninja Gaiden II. Since the two games look quite similar, Ninja Blade was criticised for being a rip off before people had even seen gameplay footage or played it themselves. While Ninja Blade does have a similar control scheme to Ninja Gaiden II, it's definitely not a carbon copy. It's not an easy game by any means, but it doesn't have the punishing difficulty that the recent Ninja Gaiden series has become known for. On the hardest difficulty setting, Ninja Blade may have you throwing a couple of controllers against the wall near the end, but it's not a constant source of frustration like Ninja Gaiden II. The above shouldn't be taken in a negative way as Ninja Gaiden II is a great game, but it's not a game that the casual gamer can enjoy. Ninja Blade is more reminiscent of Devil May Cry 4 in terms of difficulty. It has a few hard parts, but the average gamer shouldn't have too much trouble completing this game. Ninja Blade is a game that hasn't really garnered the attention that more well known beat'em games have, so if you haven't bought this game yet and you absolutely love games like Devil May Cry 4, Ninja Gaiden II or the God of War series, you should definitely give this game a look."
