Gamernode Review: F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin

GN: "In this sequel, players take control of Becket, an (of course) exceptionally gifted soldier with a high level of unrealized psychic capability. Beckett's original mission included aiding his squadmates in the safe retrieval of Genevieve, one of the scientists responsible for Alma, at her private residence. What in this title's narrative and gameplay sets Beckett apart from "The Point Man," the protagonist in the first F.E.A.R.? I have no idea. If not for the additional story elements scattered about as PDA files, I'd have figured the two characters held a Tyler Durden and "Jack" type of relationship (the two equivalently quiet dudes also share the exact same time-slowing ability!). I didn't feel for "The Point Man" in F.E.A.R., and I don't feel for Becket, despite an in-game invasive surgery scene, relationships developed with fellow squadmates, and Alma's constant personal attention. Oh yeah, her."
