Crysis not necessarily coming to the PS3, or 360 for that matter

Gamezine: 'Crytek's admission that they are moving to console development excites Crysis fans, but the game isn't necessarily on the way to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

We reported on comments from Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli that their acquisition of Free Radical would speed up their move to consoles:

"This step will certainly bring us forward a bit faster to achieve our goal to develop high quality games on consoles."

He further commented that they'd of course be utilising their CryENGINE 2:

"[Free Radical] have a proven track record in developing great games on consoles and PC. This combined with our own CryENGINE technology and a very experienced team is more than perfect for us."

A couple of websites took this to mean that Crysis, the CryENGINE 2's show piece, would be coming to the PlayStation 3.'
