While I (generally) agree, VGchartz is useful when other information isnt available. Its not worthwhile to argue that vgchartz numbers have more authority than NDP or MediaChart, but without other information, its worthwhile to discuss.

That said, I dont think *anyone* expects anything less than stellar sales from Fable II. Its very highly anticipated, breaks a lot of new ground in the genre, looks fabulous, has great online-play and has been getting STELLAR reviews.

No one doubts that it will be a massive seller.

Most likely these sales are Fable 1 fanboys that have been waiting for the game for years. If you've never played Fable before and you're thinking of getting this game, think twice, cos it's a Love it or Hate it kinda game.

I dont believe LBP will outsell Fable II.

Why? LBP has a more limited audience; being a less familiar / attractive genre (platformer). PS3's install base is vastly smaller, and the PS3 owner doesnt by nearly as many games.

I'd wager LBP will sell 500-700k lifetime.

And, if you have a trouble with that, compare against R&C: ToD, its lifetime is only 1.3M and it is a vastly better known title.

LBP will sell WAY more than 500,000-700,000 lifetime... I think that LBP will sell at least 500,000 units in a month in the United States alone.

Yes, Rachet is a more well known platformer, but LBP isn't just another platformer, you can create your own levels and share them. The possibilities with LBP are just almost endless. LBP for the PS3 is like the PS3's own version of SPORE or something.

Also, Rachet and Clank didn't have any Online and not many people buy games that are just Single Player only ( I do) and LBP's Online capabilities in combination with the creation aspect will push the sales WAY past that of Rachet and Clank Future.

I don't think that LBP will sell more than Fable 2, but I do think that LBP will go on to sell over 2-3 million copies lifetime. I don't know how much Fable 1 sold, but I think that Fable 2 will probably sell about 3-4 million lifetime or about the same as Fable 1 on the Original Xbox.

It's just silly that there is some made up delineation at 90% that divides a great game from a AAA game. It's silly, it's stupid, and frankly, I think videogame review scores should be done away with. They are a joke, as they are not based on anything but opinion. As I said, it doesn't change what game is actually IN the case when you buy it, nor how much you enjoy it.

Also, Metacritic and most other sites are certainly fallible, as often reviews are left out. You mention Fable, I can cite a few perfect 10's for MGS4 that were *oddly* left out of its Metacritic scoring. Yes, everyone has an agenda and a bias, its the nature of "journalism" in the videogame world.

Just an FYI to sales-doubters:

Fable 2 already has 100,000 unique users per MyGamercard.net. Say what you will about being off on sales, and "OMGZ It'll only sell 500k worldwide first week!", but when you have an aggreggation website that says there are 100,000 unique users, and their service only covers 16% of the entire Live userbase, you know that the game has sold well.

Feel free to bash all you want, but when NPD-time comes around, the article will be vindicated. I fully expect Fable 2 to be at, or around the 1m mark when NPD publishes their data for 2 weeks of Fable 2 sales.

Oh, and it should be noted that you can independently validate the VGC claims by hopping on the Fable 2 leaderboards. From my understanding, they already have 300,000+ users on them. And that's only users that bothered booting up Fable 2 online, and doesn't include offline users such as myself that don't use Live.

This is the best RPG I've played this year so far. The actting is cool, the colors are beautiful, and the scenes are great. I haven't seen any tearing, or frame rate issues yet. The tasks in the games are enjoyable, and the charactoristics and freedom of the game makes for a great replay value. Only problem I found in the game is, the captions are to high and my tv cuts them off. Their is no adjusting that, but other then that its a great game , and a most have for xbox360.

so by it only being 89 on metacritic it stops fable from being triple a???? hardly think 1% makes much difference really and does not stop it from being a great title.

and i dont think 1% will make anyone change their mind on getting the game

and by the guys reasoning on what makes a game aaa,the ps3 has only one exclusive game which is aaa and that is mgs4.cant count lbp yet as its not out yet.

so by putting fable2 down he has also put down most of the games which are on his beloved system lol.self mugging at its finest

And there were people on here saying it would flop. Will top a million easy. The first one sold over 3mill and this will do better.
