Game Argus Review: Golden Axe Beast Rider

Game Argus writes: "Resurrecting what gamers thought to be a long dead franchise, especially one as classic as Golden Axe is a hefty task. You need to be careful, and unfortunately, that's not what happened here. Instead, Sega slapped the name of Golden Axe on a generic, routinely terrible beat-em-up with almost no resemblance to the original at all.

Actually, what's been done here isn't just terrible; it's flat out disgraceful. The series has lain dormant for 12 years after a one-on-one fighting game came out on the Saturn, and this miserable next-gen clunker is the best they could do? Immediately out of the gate, things go awry when you realize this is purely a solo adventure. There is no multi-player to speak of whatsoever. Nope, not even in some additional mode outside of the main game."
