I can tell you they do not spout the company line. If they did, I wouldn't be subscribing. For instance they gave Too Human a 6.5

Unfortunately, they, like so many other reviewers, missed what makes Too Human so great. You have to play the geme for literally hundreds of hours to fully appreciate it. It's beyond addictive once you really get into the community aspect of trading and co-oping to level and equip the various character classes. The game, unlike so many games, has extreme depth and replayablity, but I digress.

If they gave Fable II a 9.5, then guess what, I am going to buy Fable II and enjoy the hell out of it, and you PS3 guys can go play with your sackboy.

Sony isn't known for advertising their games like Microsoft. Granted LBP is a great game by any standard, you can't say that it will sell x amount or y amount. Its not a sequel, hasn't seen extensive advertising (yet) and looks "kiddy." Time will tell whether or not it achieves mass market appeal. I am not saying it will sell poorly, but you can't claim one will sell oodles more than another. I can't tell the future and neither can you. With that said, I will purchase LBP and Fable II. Apparently, the game industry wants me to be broke.

Also, I can't say I'm surprised to see Madden sling some mud in a positive Xbox 360 story. Talk about Fable II or move on...

not consoles, so even though I don't have a 360 at the moment (a PS3), I have a mental list of all the greats I'd get, and Fable 2 has always been on there (along with PDZ, Dead Rising, Crackdown, Gears 1, 2, and NG2, among others). Oh how quickly you forget the $800 swag bags MS sent out to Halo 3 reviewers. Tsk tsk. Pot. Kettle. Black. Also, most of the MGS4 review "restrictions" were centered on not discussing things like plot spoilers. Considering its a game wrapping up 60 years of continuity, I have to thank them for that.

Still, in the end I guess it doesn't justify devs placing restrictions on reviews in general... but damn, don't act like MS doesn't do it too please. That's just foolish.

Completely different settings, art style, gameplay features, different goal as a game itself.

Fable has much more longevity than mass effect.

Because in Fable you can have your own life without even doing any missions.

Compare the biggest game on the PS3 Metal Gear 4 and it only selling about 3 million, I don't think LBP will go past 2. Now when you look at MS biggest exclusives Halo 3 8 million and Gears 6 million, it's not hard to see Fable 2 being the third 360 game to hit 5.

I've found OXM to get a little carried away with the hype in some of the bigger games, but in general they mark pretty well imo. The score they've given is very good.
It will be interesting to see what other think though.
Because this game is an RPG it could struggle with review scores. What I mean is, how many RPG's to you see with really good scores? I think Oblivion was the last really good console RPG(I could be wrong). I think RPG's generally rate a bit lower because they have so much variety and it's often difficult to get the balance right. This is certainly a good start though!

That Fable 2 is as good as it is touted to be. I don't own a 360 but I do love most of Molyneux's work. My favorite that I still play to this day is Populous. The only thing with OXM dropping this score early is that if other review sites don't score close or better it may be viewed as biased.

I've been kinda broke since spending about 20K on my car for upgraded engine, gears, turbo, exhaust, headers, injectors, and the like...but one game I will definately be getting on day one is Fable 2. I want it more than Gears of War 2(which I also have to get along with Resistance 2, and LBP.) I loved Fable, it's whole atmosphere, and even the way they characters talk just was very unique and interesting...and FUN.
To those guys who don't have a 360, but still want this game, this would be a good time to get one, they're fairly affordable now. I've had one since launch day and have never regretted the purchase. Plus, I can't imagine playing the first Fable on a PC, it's just more of a relax on the couch game than a sit straight up in your chair PC type of game.
