RPG-TV.com: Preview of New XBox Experience + LIPS

RPG-TV got a briefing last week on the Xbox Live Experience and was told that the Fall dashboard update would be hitting in November, i.e. this fall.

I would rather have Home (plus PS3 firmware updates) than a 360 Fall Update.

And i would rather have LBP, Socom, Res 2, Motorstorm and WipEout HD than Gears 2.

Home, though a good idea in theory, many not execute nearly as well as Sony hopes. Plus, the party system pales in comparison to what Xbox Live does.

And I would rather have Gears 2, exclusive Fallout 3 content, more GTA IV content, Fable 2, Left 4 Dead, Age of Conan, and many others than Resistance 2, LBP, and Socom.

By the way, I think the PS3 is a great machine, and Sony is trying their best. But they've fallen fairly short. ::Sigh::

There was a lot of rumor going around that the new update was coming out in September. This is just to confirm that it's not.

This update is massively anticipated - being the biggest update to a home console ever.

Thus people were anxious that the update may slip into next year just so MS could get it perfect - this news is excellent and puts minds at rest.

All 360 games have achievements. In fact, with the Fall Update, there will also be "medals" assigned to achievements. Don't think of them as "trophies", per se. They're more like visual representations of achievements that will show with your gamercard. I'm sure Gears 2 will have them, since they're one of Microsoft's flagship titles.

I was never fond of the Blades tbh...i always thought they where crap compared to the XMB

The blades reminded me of a kids FunFax with swoosh noises, this does look much better, easier to use, navigate and a lot more flashier than before.
I'm afraid I'm not up for the Avatars though, I'll probably be turning those off.

Traditionally the holiday buying season starts the day after Thanksgiving so it would make sense to release the new update around then.

I can't wait to load up mu JRPG's on the HDD...I have like 99 GIGS left on my Elite.

I've never complained about swapping disc, but less load times is musch appreciated and it's all OPTIONAL.

You wont need to swap disk's apperently once you've installed them all....i heard this in an interview with major nelson :S

so for example playing lost odyessy, install disks 1-4 then only put one of them in, and you could run disk 2, 3, 4.....

which sounds like a crazy-good idea to me.
