1UP Reviews Samurai Warriors 2 Xtreme Legends

James Mielke of 1UP writes: "Upon firing up your first mission in Samurai Warriors 2: Xtreme Legends -- either on PS2 or downloadable on Xbox 360 -- you'll find yourself asking all-too-familiar questions like "Haven't I done this before?" or "Why am I doing this again?" The scenario is painfully familiar: Random warrior (it really doesn't matter which one) is standing in the middle of a primarily brown battlefield, surrounded by men with spears and bows, with the occasional rider cruising by on horseback. The maps, the setup screens, the strategy: It's all the same. The thing that the Samurai Warriors series has done, mostly, has been to provide a slightly different spin on Koei's successful but tired Dynasty Warriors formula -- that of massive battles and massive repetition".
