1.1 - Here's the answer to your question.

Because it's a classic case of people believing something once they've been told enough times. What does EA say E-V-E-R-Y year? Something along the lines of this years game fixes what was wrong with last year, it will be the best one yet, we've got a bunch of great new features(read:GIMMICKS), etc. etc.

People get reeled in...year after year, and it amazes me, even though there are examples of it all through our society and history, It will never cease to amaze me how idiots can hold such sway over LEGIONS of others.

7 - Well, I certainly disagree with everything on that list.

But that's just my preference. Madden? Innovative? ...when?

I'll say it's a decent game, but not innovative...just popular and soaked up by the masses. Commercial success /= acclaim and praise, at least not for me. If so, Titanic would be at the height of my top ten movies.

What about Tony Hawk? ANY basketball game? Hello NBA Jam, 2K, Street.

I've been hearing great things about Madden this year, but I'm trying to talk myself out of getting it. I got '06 and '07, but I really want to skip this year and maybe get it next year. Oh well, we'll see how this week goes. Maybe once Bioshock releases, I won't even think about Madden. :-)

I Guess know one told them that Nfl2k5 was reviewed better than Madden 05 and is regarded by everyone that has played it more than twice as the best football game ever made. And weres Nba2k, but they are journalists not gamers.
