I'm so happy to see this, one of my fears about Killzone is there won't be enough variety. You know how reviewers may get but with seeing this new breed and seeing that big robot in the latest trailer, I think Killzone will have some variety.

They haven't put a step wrong with KZ2.

The environments are going to be more varied than we thought at first (I think I spotted a desert environment in the trailer) - they will all have the same gritty, dark look to them, I'm not expecting any "Rainbow Unicorn Parades" (as IGN succinctly put it, I believe), or lush rainforests, but they should be varied in scope and design.

The variety of enemy now appears to be catered for, and with the weapons we already know about, as well as some of the more exotic weapons we don't know about, as well as the different vehicle types we know are in the game, the gameplay should be rich and varied.

Reports from the multiplayer beta have been positive - nobody was really expecting the MP to be KZ2's strong suit but it's shaping up to be something special.

Everybody likes to criticise the AI, but I saw a video with really agressive AI that behaved intelligently, charging in, falling back, before storming the building with a teammate and rifle-butting the player, who died from the attack. Most complaints about AI stem from confusion with difficulty, I believe.

The only concerns of mine that remain are:
-Game will feel too scripted
-Game will be too short, lack features such as co-op
-Multiplayer won't have enough modes/maps/ranks to keep me interested
-No split-screen
-Visual style will remain the same throughout, could get boring

Yea I agree with you Thor, all of those negatives won't stop it from being a good game but could hurt it in the reviews. I don't think it's going to be short though and I'm one of those people who criticize the AI. In early videos the AI looked bad but hopefully they've been working hard on it.

This is a good example of the kind of AI I want to see in Killzone.

Well i have yet to see an article like that mainly because it wouldnt get past the pending section cause all the PS3 supporters (the majority of this site) would bombard it with spam reports

But if it were a 360 hating article it would be approved within second and reach 1000 degrees before mods even got a chance to delete it

But hey if you guys find looking at an image of a magazine cover (which isnt even english) amazingly awesome i wont stop you :)

Love how you drag the 360 into it Omega. This is a PS3 exclusive. That wasn't the point of my comment. The point is that 360 fans are always attacking 1st party exclusives on the PS3.

Well maybe if this so called PS3 article wasnt posted in the 360 section i wouldnt have much to say on the matter but since it is i think im entitled to my 360 sided opinion

You guys got a problem with that then report the story, but i doubt you will since no matter how poorly a news article is posted if its about a PS3 exclusive or positive PS3 news it wont get reported and will always be approved PERIOD

i was just laughing because this is perhaps the first time i have seen female helgans. I don't remember seeing any in KZ1. For the longest time i was wondering if there are any female helgans at all. Its good to see some of them as i really don't want to think of those Helgans boys as gays lol!.

It's meant to be a "realistic" shooter. Yes I know it's sci-fi, but they're trying to do everything within a realistic mould. It's not like Resistance or Gears or Half-life where they just make up a new type of enemy and say, "hey, look, it's a different type of alien creature, OK?" - it's more like COD. How many different enemy types were there in COD4? I count... humans... and that's it. It didn't stop the gameplay being captivating and varied. OK so there was the _occasional_ vehicle. Still, the meat of the gameplay revolved around a single enemy type.

hmmm... you are aware that the helghast are human right? you can't just make 100 different strands of human with different shapes and sized and whatnot

and let's face it- the helghast are much more menacing and atmosphere-inducing than anything Halo or Gears have spewed out
