idk, i find DMC's storylines (particularly 3 and 4) very emotional.

Nero: "I SWEAR IT!!! I SWEAR IMA GET U OUTTA HERE KEIRE!!! KEIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" ;

if u guys still have it watch the Final Trailer for DMC4 DLed from the PSN. the way they piece it together is almost betta than the actual way is plays through in the actual game

I enjoyed XII a lot more when I stopped thinking of it as a FF game, and just as a new RPG. Made the experience a lot more fun.

4 - FF7, FF8, MGS Series...
These are my choices of all time but for me the MGS Series is the best in the business and really has alot of emotional parts in the whole series due to the powerful story well put in the series by Kojima San. Ive never played a game where u felt so connected to each character in the mgs series. All of these games are amazing but the mgs series as a whole series is the best of them all that I have played.

This whole list could have been purely made out of MGS moments

yeah, im a MGS fanboy but i think even MGS haters can recognize the epic story and emotion brought out by this game

6 - I will admit
I got a little misty eyed in *SPOILER FOR MGS4 AHEAD*

When Raiden saves snake from that giant ship. Not really that he cut off his own arm (which was badassed) but what he said. When he screamed out "Rose" after all that emotional disconnect he displayed it was a amazing moment in gaming for me. I think anyone who's ever really loved someone and ever longed to be with them despite certain things would definitely correlate with that scene.

6.1 - I agree
I didn't get misty eyed, but my daughter sure did. I did however, feel very emotional with that scene. Just like the microwave part. Even during my 2nd and 3rd playthroughs, I was screaming out for Snake to keep going, just so I wouldn't have to see him die there, lol. There were quite a few moments in MGS4 that could have made the list...for me anyways.

Yes the Microwave part takes a honorable 2nd place for me. There's never been anything like that before that i experienced in a game. To see Snake crawling and dragging himself trying to will himself through the experience. It's all determined on how much you the player want him to succeed as well and you have the Mark 3 cheering you on. While at the bottom of the screen you see your comrades struggling to survive as well. A very potent scene. Dare i say even revolutionary for gaming given the heft felt throughout that segment.

Also i'd give a nod to the hug shared between Big Boss and Snake at the end of the game. It's something that snake never really had before. To be treated like a human instead of just a killing machine. It was pretty powerful.

The MGS series is one of the few game franchises in which I really felt connected with the characters.... MGS4 definantly had a lot of emotional cutscenes though.

And in Shadow of the Colossus when Agro fell off the cliff I almost wanted to get up and scream "NOOOOOOOOO!!"... that horse went with you everywhere in the game and you really felt that Agro was "your horse" and it was just crushing to see that... but to see that Agro survived the fall in the last cutscene definantly lifted my spirits when playing it.

I cried at the end of FFX, but also got the 'happy ending' bonus sequence after the credits which made it all better. EDIT: or maybe I'm thinking of the bonus at the end of FFX-2?

The end of Persona 3 also choked me up too.

The Longest Journey and Dreamfall were also epic for me. I constantly play them again and again.

I've never played any MGS games, so I can't compare.

I must be the only person on the face of the planet that didn't cry when Aerith died. All I could think of was '...glad I didn't focus on leveling her'.

Amen, The Longest Journey and Dreamfall are two of the greatest games ever made in my opinion, when it comes to story. Particularly in Dreamfall, when *SPOILER* Faith goes to sleep on Zoe, and asks if she'll be waiting, and then disappears, was extremely emotional.

I wish I played these games. I'll be looking for them.
And I STRONGLY suggest playing the MGS series if you like that kind of stuff.

And be sure to play the PS1 version of MGS1. You may not believe me but the voice acting in the PS1 version is simply THAT superior, especially Gray Fox's. I could send a link but it would spoil everything

If you are talking about X-2 (where you're allowed to bring Tidus back), then I wholeheartedly agree with you. To me, The good ending in X-2 made X all that much better.

You're not the only one about Aerith dying. Honestly, I never really liked her to begin with. I always spent my time with Tifa so I could spend the time with her at the carnival.

9 - **HEAVENLY SWORD SPOILER! :OO:**
On Heavenly Sword I almost cried when that one guy(forget the freaks name) threw Kai off the bridge by her neck. Lol, I had a mixture of sadness and rage and I kicked the guys ass, he hardly touched me at all. Then when Kai was still alive I was really happy.

MGS4, Heavenly Sword, FFVII, and Soul Calibur 4 made me emotional.

SCIV made me filled with rage when the opponents would CONSTANTLY block and have just a slice of health left that you can hardly see. And you have about half health and they some how magically knock you out with one massive combo. I really hated The Apprentice in it. He seemed like an arrogant, stubborn, stuck up prick.

Maxi makes me want to kill myself, and anyone who has such an "IM THE BEST" attitude in the game. It's cute when the girls do it, but when the guys do it, I get really angry. Brawhr.

Amy kicks ass in SCIV.

And whoa I just got WAY off topic I think..................

Death of Gray Fox in MGS1 (ps1 version) is my personal favorite

FF7, SOTC, death of The Boss, and FFX were good choices. I just love how no one ever speaks (or almost) in SOTC but it still manages to make us feel all kinds of emotions.

I would've added the MGS4 intro and conclusion, AND THE MICROWAVE SCENE FOR PETE'S SAKE and the whole ending of FF7 from the fight with Sephiroth to the credits.
I would've removed Pokemon and COD4 (seriously, COD4?)

Seriously MGS is all about emotion. Stop saying we're all fanboys as soon as we mention MGS for this kind of stuff. Just go see for yourselves.

I thought Crisis Core was really emotional *warning Crisis Core: FFVII spolier*, I knew he(Zack) was going to die but you just don't want him to, you just want him to be able to talk to Arith(I know its spelled wrong) again.

I only beat it once cause its just hard putting a character you spent 20 hours with through that. It is just not worth it. When the blood runs down clouds face /tear*

Yup, FFVII Aeris scene will always be mentioned, even if it doesn't make it to number 1 top list. The theme song of Aeris by itself is enough to make you sad.

That scene alone is one of the main reasons why PS3 owners would want to see a remake of FFVII.

Was not the best game but the part when she is singing koda kumi's 10,000 words on the airship in the thunder plains and the video plays showing what happened to their past counterparts(forgot their names) that was pretty emotional.

YES! AGRO was they most emotional thing I ever went through playing a game beside Aerith, I was so pissed off at the last Colossi and I didn't even see him yet! I blamed his death all on him, ran a sword through him with a vengeance. The rest of the game *NO SPOILERS* was all for my horse, f the chick I was trying to save.

24 - Ummm Half Life 2 Episode 2?
Anyone? I mean come on! This moment among thousands of video games truly shows the power of the medium. I mean a character that has practically been with you the whole time, helping you, befriending you, fighting the good fight and then ultimately SPOILER: Dies in front of his own child, telling her everything is going to be alright, when it clearly isn't. Now imagine this, what if, and this of course is a big what if, what if Alyx died!? Most gamers who have followed the series would no doubt shed a tear. Hell, I might be the first to say that I would cry if Dog died. It's a shame this game wasn't on the list as I believe it shows a huge jump in story telling for this generation.

No game has ever come close to making me cry. I'm sorry, I can cry at movies, but not cutscenes. FFVII is over rated. I played it, and the bad acting, the stiff dialogue, etc, really was just annoying. I just wanted that game to end.

Like when you meat back up with cortana. The scene is just chilling. And the halo 2 ending, even though the emotion it evoked was rage it surely evoked one.
