(Unboxing) Halo 3 Plasma Pistols

Kotaku: I received a box set of Halo 3 Covenant Plasma Pistols in the mail yesterday. The two guns and two targets are sold together as a Halo-themed laser pursuit game. I haven't had a chance to play yet (that's for this weekend), but they seem like they're pretty well put together and have a nice set of rules backing them. For instance you can fire off super shots with the gun by holding down the trigger for a few. You can also run out of ammo and shield. I'll make sure to update everyone on Monday about how they worked out. In the meantime check out the unboxing.

Primalily as a PS3/Sony fan and refusing to pay online subscription for Live I can't ignore/debunk the fact that playing Halo entertains me very much and the primary reason for buying my 360.
This is not good enough, I want a Needler.

EDIT: Wait, this is a working Lazer Tag set? That's pretty damn cool merchandise for a game, play Halo in the halls of Uni, awesome.

humm is it weird that i want more the sackboy that i care for these ?? .. dont get me wrong is a kool idea and all but is not somethign id ant if i was 12 to 14 i think id be hype about it but not so much now .. ( i know 12 to 14 not hype about it but styl wants a sackboy) LOL ....

but thats what i think and its kool lol.. but all in all a good idea even tho gears gun i think is even dumber u really cant do nothing with it these ones u ge to play a game or so ...

BOTH, more likely to get a Sackboy in UK though.
I'm sure nobody'll miss out on that piece of potential marketing genius.

EDIT: I don't like Gears, played it, see it overrated, don't get the whole 'Chainsaw on a gun thing', it sort of reminds me of 'Soap on a Rope'. Ion Cannon in UT (PC) beats Hammer of Dawn. Don't feel anything for the characters.
All up for quality Halo toys that have a use to mess around with though.

imagine if they actually made all the guns in halo and made it like this plasma rifle for a laser tag game...each gun having it appropriate attributes as in the game (ie. battle rifle shooting bursts of 3 infrared lasers, or rocket launcher having a huge infrared radius with 2 shots before reloading) and using marine armor for our armor

i think that it would be kinda corny, but maybe kinda cool playing with friends in a "live action halo" type laser tag game

Absolutely. Your Halo 3 example is perfect because anyone who played Halo 3 knows that it was overrated, that it was just a bit shinier than Halo 2 and was a good game but not nearly deserving of the perfect scores thrown it's way. Yes, Halo 3 took back it's XBL crown from COD4, but what about the people enjoying COD4 on the PS3, Mac, PC as well as the 360? I'm pretty sure those numbers dwarf the amount of people playing Halo 3 online. And by "people" playing Halo 3 online I mean racist, homophobic 12 year olds who yell homophobic slurs whether they're winning or losing as they prance about the countryside in their teal and fuchsia colored Spartan armor.
Halo 3 was Halo version 2.2, nothing much changed, but the real problem is with the assess playing the game. I canceled my XBL gold last fall specifically due to Halo 3 and the nimrods who ruined it. I shouldn't have to mute 5 players before the start of a match. Seriously, who's brain fart was it put headsets into the hands of every 12 year old boy hopped up on sugar who does nothing but play Halo and watch YuGiGo while they wait for their testicles to drop? And where are these kids parents? Why on earth are they allowed to spend day and night online with a mature rated game while they pollute XBL with the type of verbal diarrhea that gets rap artists banned? Thank god COD4 on PSN hasn't been seriously infested yet with these legions of unwashed future welfare recipients that make the bulk of mature adult gamers role their eyes and wish the newer generation had never even heard of videogames. But I digress...

7 - Yep, that's a toy alright.
Just like they looked in the game, like the good folks at Fisher Price designed them. Ok, was it just me or do others hate the Covenant weapons? I always have. The Elite Sword kicks ass, but everything else was pretty underwhelming to me. I, for one, want my alien weapons evil, not looking like they belong in a 5 year olds room.

If its so overrated (i do admitt it is a little, not as much as people say for me)why do soo many people still play it when they could play COD4 but choose not too? why do people give into it? why do people make it overrated? its us who do it
