Wii owners not as casual as some think? (Guitar Hero III leaderboards show)

"Looking at the Guitar Hero III leaderboards, Wii scores are pretty far ahead of both 360 and (especially) PS3 scores. GH III may be a casual-friendly game, but there's nothing casual about getting over 100 millions, not to mention that this is the first iteration available on Wii so the scores should be lower than GH veterans of 360 or PS2."

Will the Wii version end up being the best selling?
Did some Wii owners figure out how to hack their scores?
Are more old PS2 owners ugrading to Wii than the other Next-gen consoles?

Thats how you know when someone is full of shiet talking about how they are playing a game on xbox360 or talk about having RROD...yet has no gamertag on the bottom of their bio...its really not that hard too add the gamertag...and it will pop right up...and your argument about people not wanting others too know their gamertag made me lol....if you had a xbox you would know that you have too accept anyone on your gamerlist to even get messages from them so you fail....what do you think..someone will stalk you on xbox live..hahahaha..what a moron.

1. 360 owners bought more GH3, though. Install base means nothing when we look at a single game, since we can see how well the game sold on each platform, and that is better than the install base.

2. Getting a very high score on GH3 is a hardcore thing. You can make anything hardcore with online compitition. Also, I made a list of good games for the Wii somewhere else, and it compared well to the future list of 360/PS3 combined games.

3. I agree, but a good mix of games is doing well on the Wii.

4. Yes, its about taste. Just like to be a hardcore movie fan, you have to like action movies, otherwise you're not hardcore enough and should stay out of the theaters. If you don't like FPS, you're not hardcore, and should stick tom Monopoly.

11.3 - Define "Substance"

What you call substance or "Steak" someone else might call shallow, or "Fast food". There are alot of different people in this world. No one has a lock on what hardcore or substance is. Most of the self-proclaimed hardcore are only hardcore with their zealotry for proclaiming and defending their choices as the best and only valid things going. Just because one has a big mouth or tendency to speak out more on a subject, doesn't make their views more valid. In my book that's just arrogant, clique-ish, and wanna-be elitism; and at base, it sounds like Caveman culture.

Well Maybe it's becuase PS3/360 ownes are busy playing Uncharted /COD4/Mass Effect so GH3 gets less loves than it did a year ago..!!

Wii only has SMG...and a bunch of mini-games....not alot to choose from..!!

I personally have the 360 version and my cousin has the wii version. I don't know if the challenge level was dumbed down or what, but I found that I can pull off hammer ons alot easier on the wii version (my score was almost twice as good on the wii version). Before you slam me and take this as an anti wii comment. Find someone with the wii version and try it out. You will see what I mean. It's way different.

Perhaps the Wii version is a bit easier to play because it's a console geared for the whole family. "Your mom, baby brother, and dog can all be a Guitar Hero!!!"

BTW, it's only the top two scores that are way out in front, the rest are approximately the same scores as the 360/PS3 versions.

I think other systems just have better games out. I know I don't have the time to play all the great games that have come out at one time on the 360. The Wii though all I have is Super Mario Galaxy at the moment taking up some time. (yes... I have both systems)

in addition... I agree with a commentor above... different versions have different difficulties. I haven't tried the Wii version but I have tried the 360 and the PS2 version and I noticed a difficulty difference for whatever reason.

The funny thing that this shows is that PS3 owners are not hardcore gamers and thus do not score as high as XBOX 360 and Wii owners. Obviously we all know that there are more people who own 360s and Wiis but the top gamers have chosen a 360 and/or a Wii in this instance.

Who the hell told Guitar Hero III is hardcore game? You know, this is most like the only thing you can play with that friend of yours that dislike games... Sh!t, even my girlfriend love this crap (not saying GH franchise is really crap, but GH and GH2 was way better)...

Just cause some casual games have appeal to hardcore audience, it don't make this games hardcore. It's easy pick up and play (you maybe will not sound like Van Harlen, but you will make it without that much training), no really need to memorize any pattern in the controls and, family-friendly, and even true social gaming with local co-op multiplayer... What can be more casual than that?
