SEGA Confirms House of the Dead II & III Return For Wii, First Screens

SEGA has announced that light-gun classics House of the Dead II & III are heading to the Wii in the form of a bundle package. The game features multiple branching storylines with over six gameplay modes including Arcade Mode and Time Attack.

Players will be able to utilize the Wii Zapper to shoot down hordes of undead creatures, or alternatively, use the Wii Remote and Nunchuk.

House of the Dead II & III Return is slated for a Spring 2008 release.

The only system where the light-gun feel is a natural is the Wii. It's kind of along the same lines as to why Wii didn't get COD 4. Sure you could do it on the Wii, but graphics aren't the Wii's strength. It is the 360 and PS3's strongpoint. Motion control is the Wii's strength though, so House of the Dead games make alot more sense for it, than the other two consoles.

5.3 - Predator...

The point isn't the graphics, it's the control system. While I never said that the game couldn't be done on the other consoles, HoTD was an arcade game with plastic guns used to play with it. The game's original intent was a style best suited for the Wii's strengths. Wii's main strength is it's point and click/ motion sensing ability. Whereas the other two consoles focus on graphics as their main strength.

The Wii is best suited for this game. It will be cheap for the developers to create/port it and make a profit. So there is not really a reason for them to put it onto a system that has COD 4 or Halo 3 on it for instance. That is what I am saying.

@PopEmUp: Because it's cheap to develop for the Wii & come Christmas Wii will likely have an install base that exceeds 360 & PS3 combined.

I WILL buy a Wii when these games come out. I couldn't see this being on any other console, seeing as how natural the light-gun-like controls will be on the Wiimote.

9 - House of the Dead 2&3 are already on 360

Just buy the Xbox version of HotD3 for $10, and unlock HotD2.It's a bc game, but you have to play with the controller until a gun shows up. Since HotD3 was developed on the Xbox equivalent arcade board (Chichiro?), it'll be interesting to see how the Wii port stacks up, and will be very telling as to if it's less powerful than the original Xbox.
Anyway, way to go Sega for repackaging a game that's been in the bargain bin since the last presidential election, so a new wave of nongaming Wii owning suckers can pay full price for it.

these are the types of games that take advantage of the controllers.

I never imagined, I'd be playing video games with my little niece, she is 8. We play wii all the time.

I wonder if this game is too scary, lol

Jet Set Radio would be nice with the wii-motes as well..

I wonder why they can't add the first one too. Maybe it can be in a future game if this one sells well and it come with the first one typing of the dead and the fourth game in the series. Now that might be cool. So this should be a fun game. Plus how many people really need the Wii Zapper it really is not needed at all. But if it was the one that came with the NES when you bought Duck Hunt/Super Mario then that would be a different story.
