I am sure a company as big as Nintendo knows what they are doing, if they think that Ubisoft game is a problem for them then it probably is.
And if they don't care about other games being released then its probably not a problem to them.

They are only thinking in making more profit of their own games, they are not jealous of the game or anything childish like that.

They don't want to alienate the 3rd party publishers from the Wii. They got up quickly to the top of the console race, they have a handicap when the other consoles can keep on with HD content.

So basically as long as 3rd party developers don't release games when Nintendo's own AAA comes out, they'll support those developers.

As far as I know, I don't think any other console does that. Some 360 games simply chose not to come out when Halo 3 did, and PS3 games can't wait to come out since they haven't really been much interference in the same genre yet.

If you add this up with the low attach rate, hardware limit (no HDD and etc), and the mass amount of software titles (both good and bad ones) you need to compete with and stay on top of, the Wii isn't exactly the perfect platform to develop for as some developers have been praising about.

Who knows if the Rayman thing is true or not. Disheartening if so. But as far as the Red Steel 2 rumor goes, if it's true, I'm glad someone stepped up to the plate. The Wii can't afford to have a sequel to Red Steel being as bad as the first or anywhere near it. Postpone it indefinitely if necessary. Just get it right...

It's funny how all of you just start believing everything surfer girl says without even doing your own research. How do you know she is not just making this sh!t up because she's pissed at Nintendo for firing her ass? Of course, it could all also be true. It really doesn't make sense though...who would choose raving rabbids over Mario? Nintendo shouldn't even bother. SMG has been getting 9s and 10s all over the place.

Sounds to me like she is pulling those news from the same place fan boys pull their sales numbers and predictions.

Red Steel sucked, and if the second one sucks like the first one, why would anyone be surprised if the team developing the game gets fired? With all the bad rep they got from the first installment, why would Ubisoft want another bad game?

As for rayman, yes, Nintendo is worried about another title stealing their thunder, right...

I dunno.. i like to read these predictions and news but only as entertainment..i don't take it to heart.. mainly cause they have no merit.. maybe she has inside info.. maybe she doesn't..

but the thing with RRR2 is that this one is WII EXCLUSIVE unlike the last one cause it only sold on the WII.. maybe Nintendo didn't want to hurt UBI in the end.. i mean if u walk into the store and see RRR2 and SMG (UR MR GAY, sorry i love that.. it still cracks me up.. even though i love mario as a game character) and you can only afford one.. which do you buy.. as a gamer, as a parent or as someone buying a present.. personally i think only 1 out of 10 people would pick up the RAYMAN... and i made those statistics up.. and they are just as credible as SURFERGIRL's stuff for all i know.. but either way SMG would sell more so this may hurt RRR2 sales and UBI gets hurt in the end.. when in face RAYMAN is a pretty sweet mini-game fest.. i must admit.. it really did use the controls quite well..

so thats my 2 cents..

either way her blogs are fun to read cause it give you hope and creates a lil drama.. just think of it as A SOAP OPERA IN A BLOG :-)

selfish cutthroat company they were during the 16bit era when they were battling with Sega. All nintendo did was focus on a way to reach another market rather than the average gamer. They are making money now but they still do things there own way.

pretty smart to do that. It actually kinda helped Ubisoft if true. Nintendo is probably like :mario and rayman are gonna release near the same time. God knows that Galaxy will sell a$$ loads, and they didnt want ot to hamper the sales of Rayman. They just didnt want to compete for sales thats all b/c in the end if they were...rayman would probably lose.
