The game still sucks. You can add all the violence and unique ways to kill people you want - but the gameplay still has to be fun or it sucks. Much like this game does.

1.5 - Keep this away from ADD kids
On xbox live I play against so many young numb skulls. I worry about those kids and the parents that do nothing to help them. Yea I am OK with my mental health but I can's say the same for the legions of overcompetitive, overweight, oversexed and sugar addicted gamers out there that solidify the stereotype. I would hate to meet some kid who played this game and forgot to take his retilin.

I'm just afraid that the uncensored (hacked) version may give some ill-minded people the wrong ideas... :(
I would hate to hear news stories about teenagers killing others because a game like this has influenced them. I just hope gamers are smarter than that, that's all.

I think the only people who will take ideas from this game are already wrong-minded. It might be a good idea to offer psychological counseling to anyone who actually buys this.
While I would never condone banning it, this game and every game like it will never grace my collection. And I will reconsider the relationships I have with people who buy it. I just don't see the point.

11 - The killings are way more sadistic than Manhunt 1
I can see why it got censored. Decapitations never go over well, whether it be, the ESRB or MPAA. The one execution where Lamb saws vertically down the guys head was pretty ridiculous. Rockstar just loves pushing the envelope for the sake of it.

17 - jesus ..... no wonder
FirstKnight, thats becuase video games are much more available to kids than 18 rated movies. Infact some Parents buy these kind of games for their kids without even realizing the level of gore in them.
I once bought my 10yr old son the sequel to streets of LA new york thingy without knowing what is was, he was playing for weeks before I just happened to hear the language when walking past his room. I should have checked more when buying but I simply said to my son go pick a game ... he handed me this I quickly scanned over it without looking properly, my fault but an easy mistake to make.
getting back to the point though, another major difference is you PLAY this game and you the player choose to commit the acts which puts you in the role of the sick killer .... with a film you have no choice you just simply watch someone else do it.

Its not the developers fault that parents are buying their kids m-rated games, its not their fault that YOU failed to properly evaluate that game before buying it for your kid. I live in a country that is suppose to be free, therefor I should have a choice of what I'm able to play/watch witout someone whining about it.

How do you buy any game for your 10 year old, and not make it a point to know exactly what the content is? I don't mean to offend you Dancryer, but that's just lazy parenting. Don't you think it's better that people take responsibility for what enters their home, and what their kids are playing rather than having the government get involved and deciding what games can or can't be created? Yes this game is gross, and violent to the extreme. But we are supposed to live in a free country. Those who want this type of game should not have it withheld from them. Especially since the game is rated Mature, along with its connotations of violence, gore, sexuality, etc. It would be a tragedy to have a society that would rather the government deem out what we can and cannot do or have as pertains to entertainment, just because parents don't want to be bothered with educating themselves about the games they buy for their kids.

So Dancryer is a parent and he made a mistake (bought his kid a violent video game), so what? All parents make mistakes.
At least he (Dancryer) has a conscious and bought the game unknowingly. Being a parent is no joke (I'm not a parent but my sister and brother both are), its hard work. Ideally as a parent you want to be viligant about protecting your kid(s) from harmful influences but we live in such a liberal, permissive society some things are bound to slip through.
EDIT: @below, don't turn this into a political debate. This isn't the appropriate place. I just made a simple statement, don't turn it into something political.

But why all of a sudden have Freedom and Liberty become equivalent with the Neo-con slurs "Liberal and permissive"? Freedom is not defined as: Whatever the government says you can do. Freedom means that you are free as long as you don't hurt others. When little kids end up with a game like this, it is their parents/guardians who are harming them, regardless of whether it's intentionally, or unintentionally. Not the game developer, who has created a product for a mature audience, and has announced it as such, through an already restrictive regulatory process.

This game looks like crap. Is it supposed to be fun? I think Rockstar only bothers making this sort of thing to keep their street-cred or whatever, they get tons of free press making people think they're so edgy etc. I don't think they should be censored, but I don't think anyone should buy or play this game either.

Very brutal, a nice improvement from the first one. I haven't gotten too far in this game yet (been playing Bully more), but I'd like to see what the buzzsaw kills look like now. Too bad it never saw the light of day the way it should have (unless you PSP hack it). Might buy a Codebreaker device for my PS2 to bypass all the nonsense scrambling the kills.
Does it deserve the AO rating uncut? Absolutely.
Do console companies need to revise their policy on banning AO games from their platform. Absolutely.
Did the cuts made in the M rated version somehow save the moral fabric of society? Nope, just made gaming violence junkies a little frustrated.

After viewing this footage I'm glad this game got banned. I played the original Manhunt for about thirty minutes before taking it back to Blockbuster for an exchange. Where Mortal Kombat's fatalities were silly, Manhunt is just gruesome and sick. I think Rockstar should seriously consider killing this franchise because it's brought them nothing but grief and money loss.
