well samus has speed and agility, plus an awesome weapon, the chief just has military experience with guns and grenades, so in a real fight i think samus would actually win, not saying that the chief is a wimp, but he is just being out classed, if he had a huge gun attached to his arm, then we could debate

Eh, yeah, it was obvious really. I mean, if you know just half of Samus' abilities, she's already able to barely surpass MC. All of them and it's no contest.

It's not a fair fight, really, since Metroid has so much more sophisticated and unrealistic futuristic weapons. It also focuses on getting these weapons more than killing things with them, so they're bound to be pretty impressive. In Halo, you pick up a shotgun to kill something with it. In Metroid, you get a new beam to unlock that door, break through that armor, oh and maybe at some point fight a pirate with it.

8 - People are forgetting....

Samus needs the aid of lock on targeting along with braindead enemies that stand still in order to get a kill. As long as the Chief moved around he's be fine. Chief on the otherhand is used to frantic fast paced fights and would easily draw a bead on Samus and decimate her with his guns. Besides, Samus gets beat up regularly in Smash Brother by characters the chief would stomp flat.

I have a friend that is very good at Brawl that would beg to differ that you need to be standing still be to hit. I couldn't actually see Master Chief doing too well in Brawl, since he uses guns he finds on the ground. The items aren't all that great in Smash Bros (best for a single use throw, most often).

Master Chief gets killed very quickly by any hand to hand combat, which everyone in Smash Bros uses.

Samus is just flat out stronger and cooler.
