That's what i've been doin for the past month lolz. I had to start early for ninja gaiden sigma, rainbow six: las vegas, and lair. Also, im thinking of getting that mouse for ps3. I believe its called Edgefx from splitfish. Can't wait to try this with haze and killzone 2.

i agree, this winter will be the first HUGE change in the new generation of games, but i think 2008 will be just as good. 360 will definitely dominate a fair bit, but i dont think by a huge margin. cuz even though 360 has halo and mass effect, etc, its not like wii or ps3 have nothing coming out.

and i also agree with the article, halo/gta/mario/nfs need to get out of the gaming world. we need new franchises and new ideas otherwise we'll just keep getting graphical updates each year.

8.1 - Wii Could Win

The Wii is the console least affected by new IPs, and Super Mario Galaxy, SSB Brawl and MP3 between them will do plenty of business assuming the Wii continues to sell.

All fanboyism aside, in terms of software sales it should go 360 - wii - ps3, this Chrissy anyway... maybe not the next

Both consoles are going to have great games. I think regardless of if you own a ps3 or xbox 360, you will be getting some great games at the end of this year. While i do think the 360 has a few more better games the second half of this, Ill admit the ps3 has a few more better games coming out the first half of next year.

I can't wait for Mass Effect and Bioshock, these 2 games look awsome!

BTW: For those interested in Mass Effect, there is prequel book out called Mass Effect Revelation. It will give you a good idea of how the universe of Mass Effect came to be. Its also a very good Sci-Fi read if anyone is interested.

12 - A lot of money riding on those new IPs...

Most IPs fail, if I'm not mistaken, so It'll be interesting to see which of those new IPs survive through the Christmas season. It'd be supremely funny if pre-planned trilogies like Too Human and Mass Effect are still-born on release, and all the money that was invested into making them trilogies goes down the proverbial.

It's a shame there aren't more new IPs worth looking at on Wii...

I can guarantee you that Mass Effect will not flop. Too Human, however, may take some time to sell (I'll be getting it either way) compared to Mass Effect, but it also has anticipating gamers waiting for it. I think both of those games will be fine.

Yep, I disagree with your statement. Why?.. well,it would become leader if people would want to pay the price of it, but sadly, not many wants to because most of the games are also for 360 and with the price of PS3 you can get yourself 360 and Wii for christmas and some of the cool games. IF PS3 drops the price, then things will be different, then PS3 might become leader someday, maybe even soon...just maybe.

I predict America will go 360-PS3-Wii in software
Europe PS3-360-Wii
Japan, unfortunately Wii-PS3-360
PS3 has MGS4, Tekken 6, and all the massive 1st party Sony games this year. 360 has its first party games and the giant Halo, nothing third party exclusive that can stand up to Tekken or MGS4 though. Both have the amazing GTA IV, Assassin's Creed and all the other big 3rd party multiplats for real next gen platforms and Wii gets left out.

Halo3 and GTA4 I agree but adding mario to big 3!?? Off all titles aside from Halo and GTA, it is Call Of Duty 4 that has the biggest chance of joining top 3. And dont its only if Halo Wars isn't released this year.

this Christmas will probably be the best one yet for Microsoft and Nintendo. I don't think anything will stop the juggernaut that is Halo 3. And with the Wii getting getting both Mario Galaxy and Metroid...both consoles will be flying off the shelves. Especially with the 360 starting at $300 and the Wii at $250, these will be attractive pricepoints for people buying gifts for there loved ones.
