First the Wii ver looks tad lighter then the orig GC ver and it also seems to have slightly smoother textures.

Whats funny about this is we all know the orig GC ver for JP was censored as well.

Remember JP GC ver got less blood and gore and no bounce.
US ver got it all.

I just find it disappointing how there is so little difference between the two. This is why I have not bought a Wii yet. Just not next generation enough for me. Hopefully this will change in the future.

"The GameCube version of Resident Evil 4 went through slight modifications in each regional release since the initial one. The North American version was the first and the original to be released, followed shortly by the Japanese version (titled biohazard 4). These two versions are reportedly identical in most aspects (excluding localization), with the only difference being that animation involving decapitation were censored and removed from the Japanese version. This was presumably due to the fact that biohazard 4 was the first game in the series (not including re-releases and ports) to be rated by the Computer Entertainment Rating Organization, which objected to the game's depictions of decapitations.[citation needed] When Leon is killed by a chainsaw-wielding ganado, his face is rather unrealistically mutilated. In Japan, the Assignment: Ada minigame is titled Ada the Spy."

the graphics dont look any different, MAYBE a bit lighter. i'm relieved to hear that the gore and decapitations will remain in the american version. i played this game to death on the gamecube, but i'm excited to see how the wiimote will transfer to a 3rd person shooter... i feel like it would transfer over a lot better to third person than to a first person shooter. if the fans like this, a lost planet game for the wii may be something to look forward too :) but for now that's just me getting my hopes up

In some scenes the GC actually looks a little bit better than the Wii,
Why did they decide to go with CDR? They are using tecknology thats been here since the ps1, I know they arn't obsessed with graphics but really at least make an attempt.

WOW can you guys read? Capcom officially announced that they didn't do anything to augment the graphics... it has nothing to do with the graphical power of the wii. kinda like how most games that are on the 360 and ps3 look almost exactly alike. i'm not saying that the wii competes with ps3 and 360 in terms of graphics, but in a few years they will be a lot better.

Another misleading RE4:WE story. Sigh.

The Wii version is a direct port of the GCN version's engine with the PS2 version's extra content.

The GCN engine is superior to the PS2 one (PS2 had inferior atmospheric effects, lower polygon, used pre-rendered cutscenes of ingame footage, instead of real-time cutscenes, had slower loading, etc,etc,etc).

The PS2 version is superior to the GCN because it has the extra content of the Ada missions and the better wide screen implementation than the GCN had, and 24-bit color.

The Wii version takes the best of everything from the GCN & PS2 except the 24-bit color into one package, with the main feature being the optional Wii Remote controls (you can still opt to use a standard controller).

Lastly, they're comparing the Japan version to the US version, and all the Japan versions of RE4 were censored for violence, so that is why the animations are different.

It sucks that there isn't much of a difference. The wii has a better draw-distance, it looks like. That's good. The PC version is DEFINITELY the best-looking one. I have it on PS2.

Anyone realize that Nintendo Power failed to mention something in its new article. They said that the laser-gun was BRAND NEW to the game. Whoa...I had it on my PS2 version. I've noticed that Nintendo Power doesn't want their readers to know about the other systems. It's kind of pathetic. Since I've gotten a Wii, I've realized that Nintendo simplifies everything into a system that's not exactly easier to use...it just makes it more confusing to argue things with other gamers. Hey...my gamesaves only take up 4 blocks of memory. Well, mine take up 350 mb's <an actual unit of measure.

Confusing, eh???

You all do know this won't be a full priced game right? I applaud CAPCOM for not wanting to rip everyone off and making this game a lot cheaper then new games.. i mean FARCRY was FULL Priced.. and sadly i bought it.. this will be about 1/2 the price and worth every penny cause of the way the wiimote is implemented.. lets face it.. being able to see where ur aiming all the time is very useful.. cause u can make quick headshots..

game editors at 1UP or IGN say its the best version.. simply cause of controls..

There is no difference becuase its a PORT from the GCN, this is a stupid video and those who claim the GCN looks better, you must be on drugs because its PORTED on the level of GCN.

I feel sorry for the people who bought a wii because they are only getting ps2 and gc ports with no graphic improvement.

Anyway i think the best was the ps2 port, you get the same extra features (of the wii and pc) with an awesome atmosphere and solid controls...if anyone wants to buy that game i suggest you get a ps2 or a gc.
