Buy a Wii Fit, still be fat

Critical Gamer Writes: The American Counsel on Exercise, collaborating with University of Wisconsin La Crosse, found what it deemed "underwhelming" results in testing the most pressing activities on Nintendo's Wii Fit. For all the hype, the study found you burn more calories playing the flagship Wii Sports. The group analysed the 6 most challenging aerobic exercises included with the electronic game mat – Free Run, Island Run, Free Step, Advance Step, Super Hula Hoop and Rhythm boxing. The study found these activities "underwhelming" and their exercise intensity "milder than expected."

Anyone who thinks they can get slim while still eating as much and without any effort will stay fat forever.
There's only one way to lose weight :
Step 1 : Eat less than 1500 calories/day
Step 2 : Start running
Step 3 : Never stop

Also, eating less than 800 or so calories/day will make you infertile, weak and sick, so don't do that.

it's not like this article is going to be read by the people buying wii "fit" as they are the same consumers who buy the crap rehashed games(guitar hero anyone) and they don't care about reviews or pretty much any relevant information.

Wii Fit is NOT to help you lose weight. It's to get your muscle to be more active and toning.

yeah, I had seen similar 'research' from a UK Uni. Ive always used wii Sports tennis to get my heart going slightly faster before going for a run. The perfect warm up!

Maybe they should rerun the tests with WiiFit PLUS!

Well, from my admittedly short time using wii fit, all it seemed to be about was shifting the weight slightly on each foot. Hardly good excercise

5 - Entertainment vs. Health
The problem is not the Wii Fit as entertainment, but the long-standing private inference that it actually is beneficial to your health. Guess not.

Maybe they should stop kidding themselves and relise that to lose weight you have to do real exercise and not pretend they are by playing a game

7 - it's all in the marketing
they use skinny women who thinks their fat when they're all bones in their adverts playing wii fit. of course it gives an illusion that it can help people lose their weight. it wont do much. there's a reason why real exercise equipment cost tons more.

that...is the wii for you.

Hell what a waste of money spend on researching this hope they didn't waste any money that could into something more usable.

watching 30 min of porn would net you like 20 min of wii fit if the porn gets your heart rate up.

its actually 2000, but u have 7 days to burn that up (3 -4days of exercising). AND YES U NEVER STOP. i dont think its possible, no one stops. cause your conscience will skrew you over before you even start thinking about eating that starchy meal. even if you do, you will end up exercising it off (cause the conscience wont let you rationalise any longer, and the gym is....... well the only form of cleansing). wii-fit ha. nice in theory. and thats it.

I have seen a few of the Wii fit functions at my sisters house. It mainly looks like anaerobic activity, such as balancing & weight transfer as opposed to aerobic. For it to be real excercise they need the Wii treadmill or stepmaster attachment, lol. Or you could save yourself a bunch of money, and just go jogging, bike riding, hiking, or other non staring at your TV excercise activities.

It must be a sign that 99% of the people who think Wii fit doesnt work also have no clue what it actually does... It's really sad some of the excuses too." I saw one screen at my sisters and now I know everything about the game"

Nothing is free. If you want to lose weight you have to work at it. It's funny that so many other studies say it works just fine but one shows up and all the Wii hating trolls are there to give their opinion on something they never used...

Someone suggested running. You do that with Wii fit. Push ups crunches squats and so many other things are in the game, sadly you just see a Nintendo product and call it garbage.. It would be funny to see Sony copy it like they are doing the Wii remote and watch how all of you suddenly change your opinion
