FIFA will thrash Pro Evolution Soccer, says EA

EA is feeling as confident as ever about the yearly FIFA vs PES battle as FIFA 08 and PES 7 prepare to do battle for another season.

"I'm happy to say that we're comfortably on top in the whole FIFA vs Pro Evolution Soccer battle," marketing manager Dan Holman told UK trade mag, MCV. Our market share has kept on increasing over the past three years, and more and more core gamers are being converted to FIFA all the time."

I'm not that keen on soccer, but what I do hear alot is that PES is mostly in favor of people who like soccer games. I always thought Fifa was the big soccer title, guess I was wrong.

How many years have EA tried this?
All their stupid gimmicks and attempts to copy PES have fallen short.
Anyone who plays and understands football will appreciate PES far more.
Fifa is for these ppl who like pretty graphics and cant kick a ball properly themselves to understand EA's game is nowhere near the real experience.

i'm done with fifa - i'm moving to pro evo - i will gladly sacrifice the graphics for intelligent gameplay.

I am so fed up with the shoddy AI switching and lousy false/fake/garbage moves made by the ai - fifa might look pretty but it plays like elephant dump.

So I can't comment on it, but I can say FIFA 2003 was really fun..

Specially competing with friends, the commentary was perfect and hilarious specially in spanish.. (I'm from Puerto Rico so I enjoyed it in spanish very much)..

Point is FIFA at least 2003 isn't that bad, but like I said.. I've never played PES so I may be wrong.

PES is teh king of fottball. i have played since pes1 launched amd i continue play pes6 in ps2 ... finished 11 seasons on master league... and still each time i switch it on it kindles me to go on an on... more to say new experience how many ever times u play that game...
beautiful AI , great shot selections , rombus presentation.. only thing they lag is the commentary... if they Tweak taht my o my .. i wd buy ps3 only for PES and for nothing else..

FIFA is more popular simply because EA markets their games better, thus the mainstream buys more EA Games since they don't hear about PES. Also, FIFA usually has better graphics than PES, but PES trumps in all other areas, mainly in controls and AI. PES = the football fans choice, and still sells well despite a lot less marketing than EA's games.

Deam EA, I bet who ever claim this "fifa is better" nonsence have not played WE:PES at all... I had over 12 of my friends switch over to PES from FIFA just for the better realistic gameplay, plus i love how u can put ur players where ever the f"ck u want to regardless off the formation... plus the online is better then fifa...
