4CR: Final Fantasy: The Crystal Bearers Interview

Not too long ago, 4CR was given the opportunity to chat with producer Akitoshi Kawazu about the game. If his name sounds familiar, that's because he has worked on nearly every major Square Eninx title since the first Final Fantasy.

I'm sure i'll be picking this up but i got a bad poop cramp when he said casual and makeing a game the hole family can enjoy, not that there anything wrong with that.I just hope that core enjoyment there and they didn't gimp it into deca sports mini game feast. The game is eye candy tho looks real nice.

Nah, Kawazu is just talking about accessible gameplay, but there will be hidden depths. A more casual player will just throw the enemies but the more experienced folks will master the reaction system.

They've pretty much mastered that with the Crystal Chronicles series as well. In the past games for instance you had the basic magics readily available with only a few options but you could use more advanced magic by mixing and matching.

Anyway, first day buy for me. Big fan of the CC series and much respect for Kawazu, the man has a lot of brilliant ideas and a lot of the support for the DS is down to him.
