Super Mario Galaxy 2 Impressions and Speculations (ResumePlay)

ResumePlay writes: "Super Mario Galaxy still to this day is the greatest Wii game that Nintendo can offer (in my opinion) so hearing the announcement that it is getting a direct sequel makes me extremely happy giving the fact there has never been more than one 3-D Mario platformer game per console life cycle. Super Mario Galaxy was a gorgeous game offering a creative spin on the platforming genre with tight physics, amazing level design, and one of the most beautiful worlds Mario has ever had to trek through. The announcement of Super Mario Galaxy 2 was a shock to me but I am hopeful it retains all the things that made the first Galaxy game an instant classic."

bah, I wish they would push back the release of New Super Mario Bros for the Wii and just release SMG2 this year.

I agree, I'm much more interested in this game other than New Super Mario Bros for the Wii.

Well, since Galaxy 2 is easily the most important of the upcoming Mario games, a little extra time to make sure everything is OK couldn't hurt. On the other hand, Nintendo could easily own the holiday season if they were to release Galaxy 2 near the end of this year.

2 - Speaking of Koopalings....
Am I the only person horrified that after you defeat them in Super Mario World on the SNES, (the majority of them being thrown into lava) that you never see them again?

Mayhap I am wrong on that, I know that I haven't played EVERY Mario game, but I have played a majority. Just my observations. =D

2.1 - Yeah, I think what happened was...
With SMW2: Yoshi's Island they went with a baby form of Bowser, which afterward prompted them to create Bowser Jr. the next time they wanted a youngster bad guy. Now that he's around we may never see the Koopalings again... Would be cool though.
