My friends uncle brought his wii over my house and we played wii sports and I have to say it was fun but I am still getting my ps3.

Zelda is pretty fun. The fishing/reel-in thing is pretty cool, as is some of the other motion control. I wouldn't buy one, but I'll play one.

I like graphics and stuff, but thats why i have a 360 and will have a PS3.

I just want some simple fun as well. Though there has bee na game drought recently.

but, its also good for parties, and for getting girls into video games.

I use to think it was a gimmick at best but i now realize its here to stay with its appeal to casual/niche/standard gamers mix. Niche and casual gamers will keep the Wii afloat, thats a huge resource. Its an border line Wacky Japanese do-dad that never makes it to the states [slash] innovative change of pace thats Just acceptable for the western habbits of loving new ideas that actually benefit people in more ways than one(family, Health, social tool); just pushing the Most futuristic gizzmo's as possible as the Japanese do as a cultural habbit isn't enough( you should see some of the things my woman bring Back from Japan, Vibrating Optical Mouse, The Sauce Dispensing Chopsticks, Ear Wax Camera/Cleaner ) anybody want some Futuristic do-dads?.

#6 Not ME!, never! but i'm sure many will love the fact its easy and simple and social. I would of loved Zelda to be like Zelda with Elveon visuals though.

The #1 reason not to dismiss the Wii is because it's riding the PS2's sales trend line in Japan & NA.

I don't know when the myth that Nintendo was growing the market started being accepted as fact, but the Wii retails for $249 which means it's still early adopters keeping it off store shelves. GC certainly doesn't have the install base required to make this happen which means it's pulling market share from somewhere else... the PS2.

I have all three consoles, but I rarely turn on my Wii. The main reason is that when I finally get the time to sit down and game, I don't want some fleeting five minutes of fun - I want to feel like a progressed on something and learnt more of a story. Zelda aside, the Wii many games like this that I can't enjoy in HD.

motto you guys are living on right now, but we are not communists! Live a little the Wii is actually a system that is fun to play games, has games that are good, and has games that are for the hardcore/casual/variety. The only reason I can feel you guys don't really like the Wii is the fact that you have to learn how to play games again. I know we all like being the master at the games we love but come on. It'll take a only a bit of your time to find out what is what.

Give me Gears, Command and Conquer, Bioshock, The Darkness, Call of Jaurez, Brothers in Arms, F.E.A.R., Just Cause, Alan Wake. THAT is fun gameplay. There is not a single game on the Wii that I would ever want to play. And yes, graphics DO matter, a lot.

Every game you listed was a shooter. Just because you are very limited in your gaming palette and can't see value in any game that doesn't have guns as the primary tool for "problem solving" doesn't mean that the entire gaming public that does is a bunch of stupid kids that don't really game. The Wii doesn't get discredited because of a few limited gamers. That is the exact reason why the 360 is doing so poorly in Japan. It is their perspective (for the most part, however inaccurate it might be) that all Microsoft has are shooters, and thus no useful and interesting games for them.

"hardcore" gamers can say it sucks, but the majority [gamers that go for the games and not console/casual gamers/Nintendo fans....and maybe others i never heard about.] think its a console packed with full of fun.
( if you think there are more hardcore gamers then casual+fan+"real" gamers then you must be full of it =P)

the sales don't lie about it, maybe you "hardcore gamers" should think outside the box even if you think its a GCN with a gimmicky controller.
Power doesn't sell the console, its what people want.

some of you want HD gfx, others just want a fun simple game like Wii-sports.

you will never hear a casual gamer say : Wii cant render SODOKU/sudoku[how do you spell it anyway XD] in HD! so it sucksorszorszors.

As far as I've seen, adults have been far more interested in the Wii than kids. But these days many hardcore gamers (particularly testosterone-laden teen males) believe that they are "too cool" to have anything to do with Nintendo products, which are viewed to be "kiddy." If Nintendo can overcome these perceptions with games such as Manhunt 2 and No More Heroes, the Wii will be far more successful in the non-casual gaming world and therefore far more successful as a whole.
