Citroën GT Priced at $1.8 Million, Six to be Produced

GTplanet reports:

"Polyphony Digital's Citroën GT is set to become one of the most expensive "production cars" sold today, coming in at £1.1 million pounds or approximately $1.8 million U.S. dollars.

AutoCar got the scoop from "senior inside sources", who revealed that only six of the cars will be made - all of which will be powered by either a "Ford or GM V8?. That's considerably less than the 20 production models that were hinted at before, but according to AutoCar, "most of the concept's features should make the final production version, including the carbon-fibre construction and eccentric interior details such as the copper trim." Sweet! The final production version of the car is expected to be launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show this September.

That is one ugly looking car. Interior is horrid, the car is vastly underpowered and its amazingly expensive. :/ 1.8 million are they retarded. I rather spend that much and buy 4 , v12 powered lambos, and avoid this weak v8 powered car. or I rather get a 2010 audi r8 v10.

It is underpowered though. The original concept model was powered by 4 fuel cells and got 789bhp, it's also more expensive than a Veyron and double the cost of an auction Enzo.

Plus, can you imagine spending that much on a Citroen?

It's a limited edition, though, which is where most of that cost is coming from, but the final, production version is severely underpowered at a suspected 500bhp, unless they have some technical wizardy to increase the power from the engine or make the car lighter (for better power or weight ratio). It's a nice looking car though, Polyphony/Citroens designers made a nice looking car, but I'm guessing the already high cost is why only 6 are being made and why it's been gimped.

THIS is why Forza in incomparable to the GT series.

Just looking at it's friggin headlights. You know you'd stop and stare if you saw one. It's not often you see a concept car driving on a public street.
