Wii Sports Resort confirmed not to have online

Miyamoto confirms that online will not make it into Wii Sports Resort.

He states that "I think they are different ways people can compete with each other. I think games like Wii Sports Resort or New Super Mario Bros are games that you want to see your opponents face, you want to play with them right there. We want people playing together physically."

Online leaderboards would be nice though since there is no online. Leaderboards go a long way in my book. I personally wish Nintendo would make leaderboards for their Virtual Console games like Punch-Out or Street Fighter 2.

I love old games and that is the number one requested feature for me. I wish Nintendo felt the same.

I feel you also but I'd much rather see the person I'm beating. Online would have been fun for some of this stuff also.

Another thing is online opens the doors for lame gamers to come in a ruin your game also. If you have not noticed there are more A-holes online that good people.

The leader board thing is cool though but wouldn't it be funny if some of these games went pro LOL. I mean Quake 3 doesn't have a leader board but you can find out where to stand by going to quake con or some of the competitive serves.

Another thing is if you don't have online then you have to show some one your game for them to get good at it. The problem with online gaming is people can ignore the challenge by disconnecting. Yet if you are showing your friend your new game then you sort of have to beat him. On top of that you know he is not cheating... no excuses!

Leaderboards would be kickass... The lack of online on this isn't surprising, especially since this really seems more like an in-person multiplayer game.

Nintendo should really consider online modes for more of their games and if they're not really interested they could get a third party to do it.

Square Enix can do decent online(Echoes of Time) and by the sounds of it so can High Voltage.
