Far Cry 2 goes Platinum/Classic

I sort of agree, the singleplayer does get better but driving takes SOO long having to stop near a checkpoint get out of your car, walk so you can see the checkpoint take out every one in that check point walk back to your car.... it takes soo long, although I love the stealth aspect. I took out an entire village of enemies without them firing a single bullet, you feel so awsome. Ok I lied they fired a bullet, but not one hit me.

Once you figure out how to take out places and checkpoints with ease the game can be enjoyable. I even made a game out of stealth, it's great for training. Try it.

Get a sniper.
Go to the pala, you know the ceasefire zone.
Take out two or three guards and escape.

It's that easy but it helps, you get trained in positioning, timing, escaping, spotting and thinking. Plus most checkpoint have 3 or 4 people anyway. You main goal is to simply survive while only using the sniper.

I now have a silenced pistol which is awsome.

One thing I should note is don't go in guns blazing the controls and health system aren't designed that way.

Dude - did u also notice that ALL the cars hav Sat nav - IN AFRICA lol

Wot they should of done is is every time u get in2 a car U (the player) puts the sat nav on the front dash board - theres a little more realism 4 ya :-)

@Mrv321 - dude i ran and blasted every1 and everythin in my path - couldnt b bothered wid stoppin at the checkpoints i just drove through them

Ha ha Hells, that is true. Even the boats.

With the checkpoint issue the developers said they didn't realize how much it would annoy gamers. I say either stop resorting to internal test teams only that are composed of the developers or else fire the external beta team because they are too gutless to tell you when a design issue = major fail. So many beta testers I have seen are afraid if they speak ill of a game or a design they might nor be invited back.

I think there were other problems with the gameplay itself that detracted from the overall experience, such as the core gunplay feeling weak (that lack of "oomph" and convincingness of impact when shooting at an enemy), and environments that were more closed-off/labyrinthine than advertised. What happened to all the massive, wide-open draw distances of Far Cry 1, Ubisoft?

The narrative presentation was also very underdeveloped and mediocre, with terrible voice acting in which every NPC sounded like they were on fast-forward or crack.

Still, I've recently started replaying the game on the hardest difficulty (Infamous) after putting it off for a long duration, and it's actually been rather enjoyable so far on the second playthrough. There's decent difficulty to the enemy AI that makes you sweat and think during gunfights, and cranking up the 5.1 really immerses you in the vibrant, detailed, rich ambiance of the African jungle.

I meant the far cry 2 PS3 map servers. I've been trying to upload my island invasion map for a couple days and I allways get the same error with THEIR server.
