Diehard GameFAN: Pokemon - A Return To Johto!

On Friday May 1st, 2009, the official Pokemon web site made an announcement that on Sunday, May 10th, the newest Pokemon game would be revealed to the world. The announcement will be made on the Japanese TV show Pokemon Sunday during the Pokemon Game Arena segment.

An announcement teaser was shown featuring Chimchar, Lucario and the cast of Pokemon Sunday gazing up at two party balls, one gold and one silver. This is, of course, a direct reference to the second generation of Pokemon games, Pokemon Gold and Silver, along with the remix, Pokemon Crystal. Fans have been waiting, demanding and salivating over a remake since 2004, and come May 10th, you'll finally be getting the official announcement.

The thing I loved the most about gold and silver back then wasn't just the fact that it was a new pokemon game with new pokemon. The thing that blew my mind was that it was two games in one, ANd never told you!
Once you beat the game, you think its over,until some guy comes up to you and says,"Hey, get on the boat". And then your taken to kanto, the original area from blue and red. As a kid I was dumbfounded.

me too dude... i was blown way when i discovered i only got halfway through the game it was awesome... and i happened to get a tentacruel shiny on my way there XD

man, i sure hope it's a gold/silver remake... i gonna kill someone if it isn't...

I hope this is true too. My roommate and i always talk about how awesome gold and silver is. If they remake it with all the features Diamond and Pearl has it will be a instant buy.

YES. That was the best games. Like 16 badges FTW! Johto was, imo, where they should have stopped making new Pokemon. >.>. But as long as people will buy Pokemon, they'll be new Pokemon every few years. Ugh.
