Excite Truck vs MotorStorm analyse

An overall comparison between the two most exciting racing games on the Nintendo and Sony console plataforms.

"With the recent release of "MotorStorm", Playstation 3 owners finally have something besides "Resistance: Fall of Man" to justify their early adoption. Evolution Studios' "MotorStorm" offers PS3 owners motocross-style arcade racing action wrapped up in a stunning presentation. While sporting amazing graphics and realistic physics, the game play is actually very similar to "Excite Truck" for Wii. We decided to compare the two using criteria we like to see in our racing games in order to find out which is the One True King of shallow arcade off-roading fun. Keep in mind we aren't comparing these titles to the overall game field, but just to each other. If both games completely suck in one area, one is going to suck worse making the other the winner."

for me Motorstorm hammers this into the ground and then shytes on it. I have Excite Truck it isnt that good *shakes head*

they guy says that excitement is excite truck ye right mate, really i dont get as excited racing a Computer than i get by racing othe rpeople online while shouting abuse at them ha ha

this guy gives a poor comparison and really is quite shyte.

2.1 - Hands down MOTORSTORM

The game is phenomenal. It's by far the most exhilarating racing game I've ever played. Putting the game in 1st person mode and going head to toe with those vehicles is super intense. Things are blowing up and flipping over your head while mud is making it hard to see. The courses are a little sparse but they've made each course come with multiple tracks and lines to take. The AI never chooses the same route either making the game totally random and in your face. Not one person who's come over to play the game has said anything short of, "WOW"

The controls using motion sensing are awesome too. I've beat almost the whole game now and have used nothing but motion sensing. It's takes 20 min to get used to also.

well.. i know it may not be fair but hey... i never said this was going to be fair.

thousands and they are in 3D.

probably billion! and still counting. has come out in many consoles. from hand-held to PC to what not.

only on PS3.

i know wii and PS3 came around same time but they both are completely different in everything. it's completely foolish to compare wii games and PS3 games. what a retard!

I'd kill for either game on the 360, I am starting to get bored of PGR and Forza because the online modes are quite sterile, eventually its gonna get boring driving ever more shiny Ferraris around tracks hitting apex's and break points! I would truly love to see M$ bring back the Rallisport Challenge franchise to be the same kind of game as Motorstorm (which I must say looks mighty good fun, though not enough fun for me to drop £425 to play!)

Surprised by ET, it continues to surprise me what the Wii can accomplish, its just a shame that the only good games as yet have come from Nintendo themselves, just the same as happened with the DS and cube!

I havnt played either. Saw Motorstorm in a mall, the graphics were really impressive, but the gameplay looked kinda lame. Never really had a desire to play Excite Truck, but I've heard great things about the controls. Frankly neither of these games are WORTH comparing. They're just average arcade style console racing games. It is like comparing CoD3 on each console, oh wait, they did that too. /sigh

BTW -- BlackCountryBob, how did you manage to create a sentance with the word "boring" in it, and end it with an exclamation mark?

Motorstorm has definately improved on their speed compared to the old E3/TGS demos. Though not as fast as Excite Trucks, but any faster would be a crash fest for the game.
