WiiWare and Virtual Console Monday Releases For 12.1.08

Nintendo has announced today's new downloadable games from the Wii Shop. Here's what you'll find on the Wii Shop today for WiiWare and Virtual Console games, available starting at 9am PST!

WiiWare:
SPACE INVADERS GET EVEN (Taito, 1 player, Rated E10+ for Everyone 10 and Older-Cartoon Violence, 500 Wii Points)

Pit Crew Panic! (Hudson Entertainment, 1-4 players, Rated E for Everyone, 800 Wii Points)

Virtual Console:
METAL SLUG 2 (NEOGEO, 1-2 players, Rated T for Teen-Blood and Gore, Violence, 900 Wii Points)

1.1 - Save your money...
I'd say save your money, and just pick up the Metal Slug Anthology. It's pretty cheap right now, and it has Metal Slug 1 - 6 (as well as Metal Slug X), all in one neat little package. Much better value, in my opinion.

Good call. i dind't realize that was out for wii. i found it for like $17 too..

hmm.... I agree with a lot of what darkride 66 said below too. I've been a nintendo fan for as long as i can remember, but i feel a bit jipped/pulled for a ride this generation. (i still enjoy the ds) but the wii hasn't lived up to the hype at all. i agree. It's turned into what i would consider a console for everyone EXCEPT people who traditionally play video games.

Tempted to sell mine too, there hasn't been any worth while games in a long time, or the for seeable future with any appeal (with the exception of maybe Conduit)

2 - Well, that's it I guess. Finally put my Wii up for sale.
After buying my Wii at launch I've finally admitted the truth to myself. I don't like it. I hate the controllers, always have, I hate how it looks on my hi-def screen, I can't bring myself to play Cooking Mama, I hate all the plastic controller add-ons, I hate swinging my controller like an idiot, I hate that the golf game penalizes you if you swing hard (I play golf. That's how I play!), I dislike retro games (liked them for a bit, now the novelty has worn off. I've got Mame32, thanks), and I hate having to point at the screen - it's annoying, I can't bring myself to get into either Mario or Zelda, two of my all time favorites. I've tried numerous times to start and restart these games. I want to like them, because I can tell they're good titles, but they just don't interest me in the slightest anymore. And it's not that I've grown out of them..I love LBP, I just don't like playing on the Wii. How do you guys feel? I can't help but think that if you had a 360 or PS3 your Wii would just gather dust like mine does. Anyone a multiple console owner who actually plays his Wii over the 360 or PS3?

4.1 - Don't blame Rare...
Rare is completely open to releasing Goldeneye on the Virtual Console, but there are licensing issues they need to work out with MGM, Nintendo, Activision (I think), and a bunch of stuff like that.

However, from what I've heard, the one company that's holding the release back is Nintendo. So if you're mad at anyone, be mad at Nintendo.
