Can't see Zelda coming next year unfortunately. They always get delayed because the Zelda team are perfectionists.
Which is not a bad thing.
I'm a patient guy. I'll happily wait until Zelda is ready. They're usually worth it.

That's why TP came out on Wii and Gamecube. It was due to be just a Gamecube game but it over ran so much that the Wii was releasing and they had to get a Wii version out too. They would have updated Zelda and made it Wii exclusively but Nintendo promised they would release for Gamecube ... even though they were about to stop supporting it... oops!

Actually, a Zelda game coming out next year isn't entirely unfeasible. Twilight Princess came out in November of 2006, so at the very least, a late '09 release would give them a solid three years of development time.

Plus, when they delayed Twilight Princess an entire year for the Wii version, the only real work done at that time was mapping Wii Remote Functionality to the controls, which isn't exactly a job that requires much time or manpower (a couple of programmers, tops), so it's possible that the Zelda team's been working on the next game since well before Twilight Princess's release.

but why in the world would nintendo have a price drop? Its sales aren't slowing. Its had a slow Q4 not a bad year according to certain groups of people. If the console sells 800,000 units in one month in northamerica or still outsell ps3 and 360 and even psp occasionally with no brand new software in japan, it clearly doesn't need a price drop. Its called value by the way.

Sony and Microsoft's machines aren't valued at the prices given by the mass market and that is the reason for the price drops. If nintendo does the same then they will fall into the same category as the xbox and playstation in terms of value. A red ocean system if you will.

And that list despite what a few might say on this little website will spur sales to a few more million for the wii nest year easily in the face of killzone 2 , inffamous , gran turismo 5 and god of war 3.
I have nothing against the ps3 mind you, I am actually looking to buy one but I don't value it at its price tag, so i am looking for a cheaper deal.

Sorry for the long post I just think it takes more than a few words to explain certain things sometimes.

you said it was about time the wii hit the 99 price point.They mean different things.My mistake and the comment above me if it was directed at me I am no fanboy.

Also if people can't find anything interesting in this lineup I do pity you. I have owned and played plenty of games across pcs and consoles and this lineup is topnotch there are more certain games on this list than on the ps3 lineup and being a future multi-console owner i have more wii games to buy on my list than ps3 games. I don't agree with paying for online hence no 360.

I don't think the Wii needs a price drop because it is doing so well, even though it is still more expensive then the 360. I think they should sell Wii unit bundles that have The Conduit, MadWorld, or several hardcore games. And with bigger harddrives. If the 360 catches up they may need to do a price drop. Then the PS3 should drop 200 dollars (US). The Wii may probably not need one until 2010.

They need a new F-Zero, Pikmin, and some remakes to some more GameCube games. Some good Play on the Wii contenders would be:
1. Geist
2. Odama
3. Wave Race
4. Burnout
5. TimeSplitters 2 and TS FP

Like I will admit this year it is really close between the 360 and ps3 for best exclusives, while the ps3 had mgs4, LBP, Resistance 2, killzone 2, Tekken 6 and while the 360 had Gears of war 2, Fable 2, Banjo kazooie, Halo 3, mass effect. Also sure the Wii had some good exclusives like brawl and mario kart, but it was not the wii's year for exclusives. So stop being such and ignorant Fanboy.

The last Crystal Chronicles was meh at best, even when I had 3 people playing it it wasn't too exciting.

The rest of the games should be really good though. Hopefully Boom Blox 2 will rip off LittleBigPlanet (Amazing game btw) and have a better sharing feature.

I have no hopes for a 2009 release for zelda, thats for sure, but some of the other games u mentioned are pretty sure to be released next year. The tales game was said by Namco to be released in 09, FFCC has been in development for long enough to be pushed to 2010(they already said its not cancelled and still in development, which is also a good thing since more time means more chances to be great) and pikmin was a game that many sites tought would be released this year, so i dont think its going past 2009. Im pretty sure we are gonna see a new Kid Icarus, which would be awesome

And to those with who are saying there are no good games, you should try to look online for games other than Halo or CoD so you can see how many great games are out there that dont have those hyped names. And if this probably wasnt your 1st console and you were at more than 15 years old, you would notice two potencial gems for the REAL hardcore gamers(those who have been playing since NES), not those 10 year old brats who think being hardcore is insulting people in "Generic FPS" #1,2,3 and 4....

Hardcore games? Oh, you mean Animal Crossing and Wii play? And by shooters, do you mean Fable 2 and Grand Theft Auto 4? Or was that motorstorm and Little Big PLanet? Or is it God of War and Ninja Gaiden? Go slit your wrists in manhunt 2, because that's pretty much the only hardcore game you're gonna get on the Wii. Then again, that is not even exclusive, I can play it on my PS3 with no issues. Hell, I bet Mad World will be ported to next-gen consoles with more features and will sell more. Sega would be dumb not to. Oh, and if you don't like shooters, then don't even count on "The Conduit" being on your must haves list. So much hype for a generic and horrible looking shooter than Wii owners don't even want.

Sorry, you can't play PS3 exclusives on PC. Besides, you'd need a sick set-up to run all games that come out on 360, PC and PS3; which makes people that complain about PS3 and 360 sound really stupid especially after being such Wii apologists. After all, I thought you didn't need next-generation technology? I guess you do when it comes to PC but you don't when it comes to consoles, even though you chose the platforms with the least amount of quality exclusives. Most PC exclusives are MMOs as of now but that's about to change soon. PS3 is getting several MMOs.

For anyone that doesn't have a Wii, it does. It's a 5 minute novelty after all so you can pretty much get the whole Wii experience by going once to your friends'.

I still don't get why you people even bother to use Little Big Planet as a "core" game example, when you're playing as little stuffed animals dresses up as other video game characters. It's the kiddiest casual thing I've ever played.

Even the PS3 is worth more buying the system. Besides the next installment of Mario, Zelda, Metroid Prime and Smash Bros there ain't much innovation in games/gameplay and gaming goodness in general on that supercharged Gamecube.
