RE4 used the IR pointer and motion control which made the game more enjoyable and easier. That worked for RE4 because it was over the shoulder. RE1 won't benefit from that because of the fixed camera angles.

Even though its not a PS3 or a 360.
The extra power and new shaders(out of the box or like HVS create your own) could have done enough to improve the visuals.

This is just plain stupid.
If you think the Controls will be supported just like RE:4 then you will be disappointed since nothing changed.
Maybe 16:9 ratio...and that's about it....

If it had re:4 like controls this game is going to be short as hell, but still that would have been a nice feature...but its not in there.

i just bought the same game but for gamecube. i don't see what differences they could incorporate for the 'wii version'.. except what has been mentioned before- widescreen. hardly worth re-releasing for that minor adjustment.

If this had ir controls i would buy it regardless of old graphics.........being because this resident evil game is the best one ever made........RE5 sucks in comparison to the original or second game or even RE4.

I'm not as hyped for 5 as it looks like too much action and not enough creeping through creepy environments, but I don't know good it will be, because I haven't played it yet.

I assume you have played it then Product? Otherwise you wouldn't be able to state catagorically that it's worse than 4.

Have you seen the gameplay footage?from the footage this looks like the exact sma egameplay with a new coat of paint.
The first and second games were just awesome.......no other game at that time had such impact on horror,hell it even created a genre...then RE4 gave us a new fresh gameplay mechanic.....what has RE5 given us from gameplay footage besides co-op?

WTF... when will capcom stop remaking residentevil 1 ?! It wasn't that great in all actuality! The gameplay felt outdated in the gamecube remake and on top of that you can still play that disk on your wii. What is the point? Motion controls won't solve the issue of how cumbersome fixed camera gameplay is. At least if they plan on remaking anything remake 2 or 3. They are well overdue and much better games then the first resident evil... btw when can we download that for N64... we need that on virtual console

EDIT: learned that they did remake 3 for the gamecube as well... REMAKE 2!!

Don't just blame Capcom for this. The whole "play it on Wii" thing was Ninty's idea so they can't be upset(or us shocked) when this kind of thing happens with third parties. I would be very surprised if there isn't new controls tacked on though-otherwise why wouldn't you just buy the GC game for a couple of quid? Be interesting what they charge for this piece of badly aged RE history this time around and who wants to take my bet that they'll release it for the next Nintendo console as well. Thing is if third party devs had made any decent games for the Wii this wouldn't be happening because then NOBODY would want to buy it-as it is they do feel like they've been backed up by Nintendo in ripping off Wii owners with reheated old, old leftovers. Yeah, RE1 was cool at the time for PS1 but today? Joke.

Just thought. How puzzled and disappointed will a casual Wii gamer be picking this up expecting more of what they got with the excellent(and imo best ever version of one of the best games around)RE4 Wii edition? It really is a money over morals operation but one approved by the consoles manufacturer who are also doing the same damn thing to people. The only Wii remakes I'm remotely interested in would be the first two MP games and that's only if they came bundled together AND finally got a cool online multiplayer like Hunters did for DS AND was available for £15 or less. Otherwise it stinks of people ripping off those who wont know any better.

this game WONT have motion controls like in re4. think about it.. re1 has a fixed camera, and the camera is not always behind your player. so using the wiimote to aim would be odd..
