1 - Anyone surprised?
Anyone surprised that the Wii's worldwide dominance has carried over to the land down under?

1.1 - Imagine if...
Imagine if 1 in every 29 people in America had a Wii!

The Wii has sold through about 12% of the US population so far, not sure how much that is in Australia.

Dang, the Australian gaming industry sure must be pretty small if it took 107 weeks for the Wii to sell over 750,000 units... I mean, the Wii sold over 800,000 units in October in the U.S. for just one month alone. Pick up a controller and play some games Australia!

You do know the Australian population is around 22 Million compared the USA's 305 Million...

2.2 - Much smaller
Yeah, its a much smaller market, these numbers are record breaking for the country.

I wonder which country has a higher % of people playing Wii.

@Immortal Kaim,

Nah, I didn't realize that Australia's population was THAT small, but I do know that the U.S. population is over 300 million.

The Wii has sold pretty well over there considering the total amount of people that are actually living there... after doing the math about 1 in every 29 people in Australia have a Wii and I guess that's pretty good for a continent with such a small population.

3 - Sold pretty well is an understatement
The Wii is a global phenomenon, it seems to be breaking records and setting records left and right.

4 - Predicted.
Ya, I don't think anyone could have predicting the Wii becoming as popular as it has become. I mean, the friggin' Queen plays the Wii. If that isn't a sign you've made it, I dunno what is.

Hopefully the rise of the Wii will make developers stand up and take notice of the Wii2 a little quicker than with this generation.
