Sales of original games on the Wii (Part 1)

TVGB: One of Nintendo's major reasons for not supporting HD and keeping the Wii's specifications conservative was to make it a viable platform for original IPs. The argument was that developing games on machines with multi-core processors and complex architectures was increasing development costs to such a degree, that the appetite for risk was rapidly diminishing within the industry resulting in endless sequels and me-too titles. Two years have passed since the Wii was released and it has since gained many original IPs that allow us to see if Nintendo's decision has borne fruit, or whether it was just an excuse to limit R&D expenses.

Very interesting article. More people should take a look at it and approve it. Interesting read.

More Zack and Wiki is needed. Please, Capcom...

3 - Interesting.
It's good to see an update on how Zack and Wiki is doing. Considering how relatively inexpensive it was to develop, Capcom should have made a healthy profit from it by now.

What about No More Heros? That obviously did well enough to warrant a sequel.

And what about Manhunt 2? I've not heard anything about that for ages.

Hopefully the second article will take into account Wiiware games, My Life as a King, Lost Winds, World of Goo, et cetera. Some of which I've enjoyed more than most retail games of this generation and it'd be interesting to see how they're faring.

Also, in before the obligatory "[Insert alternate system name here] has way more original IPs! [Insert list of games here]" comments.

it's one of the things i love on the Wii, the dev make a lot of diferent games, they really give you a diferent experience, even the fps have diferent eperiences.

i just hate games the are all equal, just like every PC game was made with quake3 engine, everything was the same, it was horrible...
