For those who want to play this game to the max then this will certainly catch their eye imo. But for casual gamers i dont see this makin too much money. I will be damn shocked if it does. Also, paying to move up in rank kind of loses the appeal of the game right?

2 - "Day One Advantage." This is a "feature" that a gamer can purchase that will accelerate their experience point earning. Instead of slogging through the ranks, you can essentially just pay a couple of bucks to help you fly through it.
This is a terrible idea. Paying for "experience points"? Erhem, they arent experience points then are they? They are just points that you can pay for. It seems as though COD forgot why you rank up, because your good.

true. I hate how company are ask for money if you want to level up without actually leveling up. Like TOV for the Xbox 360, you can pay to level up if you want too.

2.2 - you rank up because your good?
thats not true, my friends 6 year old kid plays cod 4 a lot and he is 3rd time prestige now and is terrible.
halo ranks are linked to skill (because it goes back down if you play bad)
cod ranks increas with time (but a lot quicker if you are good)

8.2 - WRONG!
Do not blame the "economy" for short sighted unethical business practices. When some poor momma eats her children because welfare wasn't enough are you going to blame the economy then too? These are video games- what next? Pay an extra 5.00 so that all the checkpoints are unlocked in a game and then you can jump to the end? If people are stupid enough to pay---guess what? They will continue to come up with new and "clever" ways to get you, the person with too much money and not enough wits or ethics, to give them that money that you really shouldn't have in the first place, or you wouldn't have been dumb enough to spend it.
Newsflash- ever since this country went to centralized banking through the FED, we've had a "bad economy" and a "good economy", sorry to say but if you are on the top its gangbusters, if you are down below in lower class, then inflation takes your money. It's the hidden tax of a false economy that prints money to loan money to make money.

You've got to be kidding me!!! I hope this is untrue because this game has perks, which you need experience points to get, which you can now buy! So much for online multiplayer being based on skill...
No purchase for me, I'll just wait for Resistance 2 and Bioshock.

Is it my imagination or is the software industry really starting to take the proverbial urine. This has to rank up there with selling your mother on the street corner for a few bucks. Seriously it is getting moronic, here's an idea why don't they sell an edition where the game has been totally completed for you.
Oh well I suppose there are enough idiots out there that will go "oh goody goody, mummy can I have some money so I can be uber at COD 700 please".

it has nothing to do with leveling. Its very, very, very easy to level in COD. Its about earning the points you get. No point to experience points if they arent about experience. Its cheap and truly unneeded. Activision is becoming a joke.

anyway, but making it get old faster isnt the way to go..especially asking money for it.
I consider myself as a casual gamer, so as soon as I got the first prestige in cod4, the game started to lose its taste.. Larger collection of guns and add-ons in cod5 could have made it worth buying by adding longevity.

30 - This article tell the story in a false way!
http://www.callofduty.com/i...
"Mentions about Day 1 content are actually a reference to what the marketing guys have been calling a "Day One Advantage" or a "Tactical Edge," a program we have going with Gamestop. Users who pre-order Call of Duty World at War with Gamestop, or who buy the collector's edition from them, will get immediate access to a high-level rifle [The M1 Carbine](for pre-orders) or LMG [FG42](for collector's edition) that other players will have to unlock via ranking up in multiplayer."
So this is not a buying XP system but some unlocked weapons from the beginning if you pre-order or buy the collector version of the game at gamestop.

We'll see how much they try to rip us off with CoD5, because if this is the new trend I'm realy going to pick and choose carefully what I buy. The games industry is going to hurt themselves buy selling half the experience for $60 and then nickle and diming you for the other half.
