Call of Duty: World at War Release Date and Beta Announced

It looks like there is a double dose of news coming from the folks behind Call of Duty: World at War. Today Activision announced the release date and another special surprise via press release:

"Boot camp will soon take on a new meaning, as Activision Publishing, Inc. and developer Treyarch, have confirmed plans for Call of Duty: World at War multiplayer betas in October for the Xbox 360(R) video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and separately for download on Windows PC. These betas will serve as an early chance for players to practice the tactics needed for survival in the intense chaos of Call of Duty: World at War's Pacific and European theaters. Players will experience the game's new squad system, as well as fan favorite perks and kill streaks.

All preparation for the full battle will commence on November 11, 2008 when Call of Duty: World at War is released to retailers nationwide.

I didn't even think about that, guess I was just too caught up in being shocked about the beta. Maybe the beta might be the best chance to get your hands on this game a little early. After COD3, I learned that it is better to be safe then sorry, anyway!

dam, my wallets gonna be hurtin. I'm not gonna have time for all these, I think i will have to pass on bioshock as i completed on my ex flat mates 360, lthough i would love to play thru it again.
i cant wait for LBP, and that game could last forever with the user generated content, resistance is gonna be sick, i cant wait for the rest of the story, and the co-op, and 60 player online, i want cos-world@war but resistance is bigger, and i would love fallout 3 but i dont think i will have the time to play it if it is anything like as big as oblivion.

I am still enjoying CoD4!!!

LBP and Resistance 2 what I am getting, CoD:WaW can wait till I get bored with those 2. Its gonna be awhile.

But I know CoD:WaW will be enjoyed by the Xbox360 players for sure.

nah i dont think it will, if you have not noticed Gears 2 comes out a few days before and Left 4 dead is like a week after.
