although 7 out of ten games are shovelware. i like to think of it as gaming for noobs. also i think that even if there was no wii most of the people that buy them wouldn't buy a ps3 or 360 anyways regardless of game lineups or price point. we all know that the casual gamer will go away eventually its happened before. even if only 10% of the casual gamer become "hardcore" gamers that would be good for all gaming

the thing with casual gamers , they don't stick around , and they sure don't see games as a priority

unlike hardcore gamers which see games as the number one method of entertainment , and will spend a lot to feed their hobby

this fact will come back on Nintendo and they will learn the lesson the hard way

and we will see Nintendo in the near future trying so hard to win back the hardcore crowd

hehe I think Nintendo learned their lesson with n64 or especially with the gamecube that they cant compete with sony ms so they went their own way...Hardcore gamers showed Nintendo the middle finger when Playstation entered the gaming world. So they actually lost the hardcore crowd many years ago...They just have to spit out new casual trends like wii fit and wii music and they are golden. Its all good because they keep spitting out classics like mario and zelda. Just own a ps3/360 and a wii and you will get the best of both worlds thats my opinion :)

uhhhh i think we already knew this its obviouse that the wii is the very last choice for a hardcore gamer they'd go with a xbox 360 or a ps3. the wii is a family system i have nothing against it but it doesn't deserve to be in the console wars it is nowheres near the 360 or the ps3 level of gaming.

For someone who professes to having nothing against the Wii, I'm surprised Chad Lakkis would come to this conclusion rather than simply concluding that Mark Wahlberg doesn't play games for long periods of time. Getting hits to your online articles must be tough nowadays.

Yeh coz there were no "casual" gamers on the ps2 uh huh. And absoultely nooo shovel ware on it....ya huh. If the ps3 was more popular it would have much more shovel ware like its little brother the ps2. The most popular console will always have the most. Thats why the gamecube had hardly any..because it wasnt popular
