Street Fighter IV: Still a Wii Chance?

Street Fighter IV Producer Yoshinori Ono mentions in a recent interview that a version of the game for the Wii is still possible, given how the title came to be, and even offers a possibility of how it may transpire.

just bring a new made 2D SF!
from what i'm seeing in SF4 is that it still leaning on what all the other SF games are doing.
the GFX dont matter with this game, streetfight is still fun as the way it looks.

1.2 - It can be done
The same way they tuned down SF2 for the NES(not SNES), it would be a crappy port, but that's what the Wii is all about, right?

3 - Why not a
PS2 version? It would be even more popular and make more sense.

because PS2 owners would not move to the PS3 quickly.

3.2 - Yes,I agree
with that. But,ultimately,it's Capcom's call, not Sony's. If they wished to make more money,it would be the solution. However,as things are now,the PS3 version will have excellent sales in Japan.

I can't even imagine the controls for this game. I just keep thinking of that one DBZ game for the Wii. Having to go through the motion to perform Ryu's Hadoken. Yes, but that's not all... they can integrate Wii speak into the game. Not for talking. No... to perform various attacks (along with doing the motions) you must also yell out in the same manner as whatever fighter you're being or you'll simply do nothing.

And they say Nintendo isn't for the hardcore!

Always the Classic, or the *shudder* GameCube controller.

(Don't get me wrong, I like the Cube controller, but it depends on the game.)

I think it would be scarier if I owned the game. I've never even played it before but I saw the attached video a long time ago. Check it out if you wannna see some of the wackiest wii controls out there.

Weird you guys haven't even played this stuff yet you think it's wacky? The actually controls where actually good you could fight with the nun-chuck and the Wii mote also. With this set up you can switch from long rang moves liks sending out multiple fire balls with a button press and dash forward to close in and deliver some classic DBz style combos. Seriously the game is pretty fun.

MK was even more fun with motion controls. More and more the hardcore are sounding like old joust and pong players. They had the same problems with new controls. I guess this is a side effect of the hardcore being a lot older.

6 - IMO
Capcom gave Wii owners the fingers by not announcing SF4 for the Wii.

Yet, as a PC gamer, I'm so happy the game is coming my way.

It would be silly for capcom not to do this sense the animation is already made. If the fighting is good then the real 2d verses the 2.5d graphics will not make a difference. I think capcom is really trying to make this an HD console cash cow I don't blame them those guys spend lots of money on stuff they no longer play including Wii's apparently.

I'm glad it's coming to the PC also but by not coming to the Wii means they miss out of gaining new younger fans. most teens can not afford an HD console and they don't really have PC that can handle more than quake 3.

Give us experimental Wii controls along with traditional control pad support. If they don't do that just release another rival schools for the Wii!

There is no reason this can not be on the Wii though. Infact most fans wanted a 2d version anyway and most people don't even like the current art direction. Make it 2d and add in old 2d characters and even the old ryu and ken just for kicks and you have a smash brother like winner! If this becomes another DMC then capcom needs to move on to the Wii.
