With new Wii Sports, Wii Music, the Wii's future is casual

2 - Ugh
I hate how much Nintendo has changed but if they can bring more hardcore games to the system then I might even consider buying one.

It's just that 1 or 2 hardcore games won't cut it.

with the wii yes most of its income and games are gonna be aimed at the casual gamers. so hardcore gamers it seems like your gonna have to find your dose of cruelty on the other two consoles

Only game I can really REALLY look forward to for my Wii is Monster Hunter Tri, and even that isn't looking as promising with no new news, screen shots, videos, nada. I'm a serious Wii and PS3 lover, but I'm starting to get a bit of doubt about Nintendo. Hopefully the 3rd parties will give something good.

Pretty much...to me hardcore means a deep an enriched storyline with core elements that only a fan would know about.Metroid is a good example.....let a casual play Metroid and they will hate it because its challenging and keeps alot of the same elements from the original(nes).

Its all about the fans.......casuals see wii sports and think wow look at all the stuff i can do.Baseball,bowling,golf,etc.

Hardcore fans are the ones asking for things.Kid Icarus,Punch-out,etc.
Hardcore doesnt need guns and blood like sony and microsoft fans kinda portray them to be.

I think Pokemon is a hardcore game just because you have to be into it to follow it.
I always think as hardcore as being "fans" and casual being just "last minute shoppers"
