Rumor: Retro Studios to announce new Wii project at E3

E3 is just around the corner, so it should be no surprise that rumors are beginning to surface regarding Nintendo-related announcements. The latest unconfirmed report is that information on Retro Studios' new title is coming soon (E3 being the most likely venue for such details.) However, there are some signs that may shed some validity on such an allegation. Nintendo's Mark Franklin confirmed a few weeks back that Nintendo is planning on revealing games for the core gamer at this year's E3. Of course, we all know that Retro Studios is a fairly hardcore company that has brought us the revered Metroid Prime series. In addition to this tidbit though, Retro has redesigned its company website, which has led many to believe that the company has changed it for an upcoming announcement.

6 - Please be sci-fi please be sci-fi

No Kid Icarus please, I didn't even like the original and I don't even see why people are making such a big fuss over it, I want them to do a dark mature shooter/adventure, Metroid 3 had such an awesome feeling to it, amazing music, fully voice acted (that's good for ninty) amazing controls, amazing art, level and character design, fluid gameplay (except for that damn fetch quest with the powercells.) and to top it all off it's just plain gorgeous. I want them to create something set in a sci-fi or apocalyptic future because they pulled it off with Metroid. I think Metroid is a classic meeting of east meets west, while it's got some core Japanese gameplay it's still very westernized as an overall product.

The original was classic, what gives with you? Kid Icarus is, to this day, one of the best games ever made. It's an incredibly well thought out game with, for the time, every kind of game play thrown at ya.

Scroller, platformer, puzzle, shooter, Kid Icarus had it all. not to mention 3 of the most memorable boss fihts of my childhood. The music still rings in my ears and probably my fathers too who heard it from his bedroom on many a nights as I was growing up and sneaking into the living room to play it at 12:00 at night "ha"

Nice.. WE've gotten word on some decent games coming out over the last month and expected at E3. Waiting on more info on the following now. Mad world, Conduit, Mega Man, Castlevania, unannounced Retro game, Factor5 game, and an unannounced shooter from the team that did Moh:H2 for Wii.

I hope if the team that did MOH:H2 makes a new game it won't be world war II cause I mean c'mon, we've already got 3 WWII shooter on the wii and after that only 3 other first person shooters so let's break it down. as what they compare to.
Call of Duty: 3 - red steel (pretty but bad control)
Medal of Honor vanguard - far cry (good control but ugly)
Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 - mp:3 (amazing control good game)

so we have 1 WWII shooter for every other shooter, that sucks.

Retros done a good job with the metroid franchise on the Gamecube and Wii. They did a good job of pushing the wii a bit and making MP3 a game with outstanding control, art, and boss fights. I would like to see a game from Retro on the 360 or PS3 but I think their next project for the wii will surpass MP3 in graphics, control, and gameplay. Sign me up. Its nice to own all three.
