win for ms i'm sure theres would be online and nintendo would of got a really bad port not a remake.I'm glad it got stoped this was a great game and most of the people that worked on this game formed free radical. The rare of today isn't the same great company that made the goldeneye that us diehard nin fans loved and remembered.Let this game stay a great old game.imo

5 - Iwata is an idiot
Foolish, arrogant pride are the only things keeping Goldeneye "remix" from seeing the light of day. Nintendo has always been anti-consumer with their "Nintendo knows best" philosophy for everything. How about a list? These are a few things they f-ed up and never confessed to.

1)Wii system codes, and additional game specific friend code for online play
2)Lack of a unified online infrastructure
3)Lack of hardware storage solutions (aka hardrive)
4)Golden eye fiascoe
5)Shovel ware on a mass scale
6)Abandonment of hardcore gamer
7)"Gamers don't want to play online" attitude coupled with the idea that online gaming = pedophilia.
8) Regurgitated (though surprisingly fresh) franchises
9) Mario everything (kind of related to #8)
10) Poor third party relations and Nintendo 1st philosophy (initial restrictions in using Miis in third party games is an examnyple)

Anyone miss any? Granted I have a soft spot for Nintendo, the company has a very limited conscious about its fanbase, has a selective business model, is arrogant as f-ck and doesn't put out games (or consoles) as quick as people would like to consume them. I don't think I'm far off the mark with this one. Being a Nintendo fan since the NES and owning every Nintendo system (at one time or another) I feel my comments aren't far off. Please Nintendo...be a little flexible....millions of people want to play Goldeneye$$$$. Oh...and fire Iwata, he sounds like a douche.

5.2 - Most I have laughed in a week or two
The perfect theme song for Iwata. Every time I read something about that douche I'll have to play the song. Bubbles for you:-)

6 - The author of this article overlooked a few facts though.
Activision stated a few months ago that they do not have anything to do with Goldeneye since at the time Nintendo not only owned the James Bond license, butt hey also published the game.

Microsoft also stated recently that Goldeneye is jointly owned by both Microsoft and Nintendo.

http://mundorare.com/news/2...

So it's either Nintendo being arrogant, or like EGM and 1up.com have stated, a royalty issue between both companies.

Ten years ago I would be very upset (Since it is a very good game). Look for the future don't live in the past.

Just another story to make Microsoft/Nintendo look bad followed by an infinite amount of fanboy comments.

I dont think goldeneye should be remade. It was a great old fps but by todays standards(which it created) it would feel old with outdated gameplay.i think it should be a virtual console only game just because it was a nintendo exclusive when it was released.Rare doesnt make great games anymore they are just not the same company.also speaking of virtual console franchises why isnt mortal kombat on virtual console?????????????

9 - same old nintendo
the truth is nintendo didn't want to look like douches. if golden eye did come out for both systems the wii version would look so bad next to the fully re done look and online features of the 360 version that maybe some of that smoke surrounding the wii would get blown away, and they would be exsposed for what the wii really is.a lump of desert sun dried turds.
