Wii Force Unleashed tech 'like no game before it' - Producer says game is running in 640 x 480 resolution

The Wii version of upcoming Star Wars game The Force Unleashed is, from a technical stand point, pushing Nintendo's console "like no game before it".

The claim comes from Dan Wasson, producer on the Wii, PS2, PSP and Nintendo DS versions of the game, which will also be coming out on Xbox 360 and PS3.

Wasson told VideoGamer.com at the game's recent hands-on event in London: "From the beginning we knew that the next-gen version had Euphoria and we couldn't do that. So we built a physics engine from the beginning to get a lot of objects on the screen and make them be able to fly really fast, which is always tough.

1 - yeah right bullcrap.

The game might be fun on the wii but it in no way pushes the it harware wise. I doubt it pushes the ps2 for god's sake.

1.2 - i hate getting into this so i won't go into details. the wii is far more powerful than the ps2. I owned a ps2 and this is hardly doing that goo ol' system justice.

Two for your other comment the wii version is worth getting because for one we get 5 extra single player levels and we get exclusive multiplayer so it has longevity or relatively better longevity than the 360 or ps3 versions. the 360 and ps3 versions look awesome but how long can you amuse yourself tossing around stuff? No hatred i dont' dislike any systems.

I don't think it looks too bad for a Wii.

I've got a PS3 so I'll buy that version, euphoria, physics etc etc, but the Wii version has been built from the ground up - according to this article.
So to say it looks rubbish isn't fair. I suspect that the graphics have taken a hit because of the extra physics the Wii version is having to run in the background.
Don't forget that RE4 was pretty low on physics.
Don't complain. Boom Bloxs has to run loads of physics and they've had to strip the graphics down to low poly blocks. Give it a chance and see how it plays before you condemn it.

curious though I have never played kilzone liberation cos i don't have a thng for handhelds but is the game in third person unlike the main console series? Assuming you played Re4 on the gamecube do you think this game even compares to Re4 graphically? I want to have a decent discussion with you No flaming whatsoever.

10 - i have to be honest,

all tech aside if i had a wii i wud definately consider getting it for the mulitplayer aspect. i remember the episode 3 game when it came out, the multi player duel had me and some mates hooked for ages. hopefully, even tho i wil get it on 360, the wii controls are responsive enough to make it an awesome gameplay experience. all i knows is dueling with a lightsaber (there is a light stick add on for wii which conveniently looks like a light saber) in real life to fight in the game wud nothing sort of fantastic as long as it is responsive enough as i have already said.

VERY GUTTED THERE IS NO MULTIPLAYER DUEL IN THE 360 AND PS3 VERSIONS THOUGH!

o well ill live :P

The Wiis processor is like what 3 or X the ps2 in power and that's just the processor.....So clearly it's not pushing the Wii not even close. It's just another lazy psp port. Got to remember it's all about the cash.

God of war on psp looke dbetter than it and making objects "move really fast" shouldn't push the processor either....especially since it's on the psp =/

Still I'll be getting the current-gen Wii version over the current-gen ps360 version.......

You can stick with your PS3 while 25m others will play with their Wiis. The Wiis version is the only one with online mode. So while you are of playing by yourself we will be playing against millions of others with motion captured movement.

And Im sure its nice to be able to play multiplayer, but if you assume that 25 million wii owners are gonna buy this game, let alone reach that amount by the time this comes out (its possible), then thats silly. If it had Mario in it, then i'd be more inclined to believe you..otherwise...eh.
