MadWorld devs: Games are for gaming, not education

"We feel that games aren't something to be used as educational tools and from that respect they wanted to create something that was fun to play that was exciting. As far as [we're] concerned it's not really a risk because [we're] creating a fun game."

No thats why its called EDUCATION.
How ever you can combine them, and i really dont see the problem of it. Every new generation grows up with new tech and such, so why not provide it for them so they can Enjoy and learn at the same time?

its actually pointless if you state something like that, i mean if you are really into making GAMES then i dont see him make sofware like MSPaint either.

I think that every game, as long as it is well executed, is an educational experience, as you always learn something with it, even if just about yourself - how you deal with panic situations, with danger situations, etc.

Educational, as in a game intended for kids, is a lable which fortunately can be discarded by modern-age videogame productions. The time has passed when the videogame companies needed to sell their products as "educational" so that the parents would purchase them. And, in fact, they would only be opening the door to something much, much larger than educational tools. Presently, games should be designed for more than just the younger audiences, so I take my cap off to Platinum games.

As for the parents worried about the contents in videogames, spend your money elsewhere: there's a great deal of traditional toys and child books which are wonderful means of education for kids.

Videogames are NOT a substitute for toys.

6 - With this game....
I can learn how it is to be colour blind or how to put a caution sign through someone's eye.
Games can be both educational and not, depends on the game...

Seriously though I don't know if the constant B/W thing will work for me, despite the game looking awesome and I can almost sense some wacky and great story.

Every last experience on gods green earth is educational so why should games be any different? its a rhetorical question.

Must be quite liberating for Nintendo to be able to make games like this one, for sure they'ved been kept by a lot of critics' on having the same philosophy as Disney - that is being too family oriented and getting a lot of flak if they digress from it.
