Yahoo Wii Fit Review

Yahoo writes:

"Will you lose weight? Put it this way: it's not going to hurt. Much of the challenge of starting a daily fitness regime is simply in finding an impetus to start, and Wii Fit is a lot cheaper than a gym membership. Its "Fitness Made Fun" tagline rings a little hollow when you consider that most of the aerobic games are rather more work than entertainment, but hey, if losing weight was easy then everybody would be doing it. Doing anything that gets you off the couch is going to help, and Wii Fit's more energetic minigames are ample to leave you out of breath. No, it's no shortcut to the perfect physique, but it sure beats another hour on a damn treadmill."

the reality is that wii fit isn't designed to make people lose weight, it's designed to make people take notice of their body.

If you're getting tired from playing something like wii-fit or wii sports then you really should become a bit more active in your daily life, and thats what these tools are all about, finding a fun way to get people to notice they're out of shape.

I had the wrong impression of WiiFit until I watched the Miyamoto interview in which he basically says what you've described. WiiFit is more of a stepping stone to getting in shape in that it makes you aware of your weight and balance, and ppl who are constantly aware of these things are more likely to do things like eat a light dinner if they had a lot for lunch. It is not called WiiCardio because helping you to trim fat is not its primary focus; it is designed to make ppl aware of their overall fitness level on a daily basis and in doing so, spur improvement.
